TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, Miami Beach Mayor David Dermer (D) issued the following statement regarding John Kerry’s remarks in Boca Raton yesterday: “I was surprised that John Kerry offered a book he wrote about terrorism eight years ago as evidence that he knows how to fight a War on Terror. Both his statements yesterday along with what he writes in his book make me even more certain that when it comes to the War on Terror, John Kerry simply does not understand the severity of the threat America faces nor does he understand that America must act offensively. “In Kerry’s...

An academic researcher has found 11 passages in Senator Kerry's published writings that appear to have been taken from other works without attribution, though experts disagree about whether the copying should be considered plagiarism. Six of the passages come from Mr. Kerry's 1997 book, "The New War: The Web of Crime That Threatens America's National Security." All bear some similarity to news accounts that preceded publication of the book.

March 15, 2004 -- SEN. John Kerry boasts how he "sounded the alarm on terrorism years before 9/ 11," referring to his 1997 book "The New War." Too bad he didn't blast it when it really counted - four months before the hijackings, when he was hand-delivered evidence of serious security breaches at Logan International Airport, with specific warnings that terrorists could exploit them.

I purchased John Kerry's book, written in 1997 from Amazon.com. It's on sale for $4 so I bought it for some opposition research. The book is about Senator's view of the dangerous threats, as he views them, facing America. This book does a good job of present Kerry's shall we say, "nuanced" worldview and I highly reccomend you read it. In Kerry's "New War" he talks about the new globalization of crime. This book is filled with allusions to how the new world a place where sovereignty is becoming a relic of the past whilte multilateralism is the one ideal...

Washington Monthly Review of The New War | July 1997 | Feldstein, Mark
In this fawning review of "The New War" by John Kerry, Mark Feldstein has unwittingly documented Kerry's obsession with global crime syndicates as the next big enemy of the US. Kerry does not mention terrorism at all, as evidenced by this review. **********************************************************************************************By Sen. John Kerry Simon & Schuster, $23 FOR YEARS, JOHN KERRY HAS been known as the "other" senator, overshadowed by his more famous Massachusetts colleague Edward Kennedy, or confused with Nebraska's senatorial war hero Bob Kerrey. Even now, as he prepares for a possible presidential bid, John Kerry is perhaps less known for his genuine accomplishments than...

Alert JYB reader James G. sends in this bombshell: SEN. Former FAA security officials say the Massachusetts senator had the power to prevent at least the Boston hijackings and save the World Trade Center and thousands of lives, yet he failed...

  • Kerry depicted Arafat as “statesman” in 1997 book

Democratic presidential nominee-to-be John Kerry said only eight days ago that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is not a partner for peace. However, in a book he published in 1997 Kerry saw in Arafat a “statesman” and even an “role model”. According to the report published Monday, the New York Post quotes Kerry's statement from his book entitled The New War . Only one month ago he presented it, during a television interview, as proof that he would be a president “who does see ahead”. "Terrorist organizations with specific political agendas may be encouraged and emboldened by Yasser Arafat's transformation from...

From Library Journal In a cursory overview of international crime, Senator Kerry (D-Mass.) implausibly calls for foreign criminal law to be imported into the United States to prosecute nationals of other countries who plan crimes here then conduct them abroad. His rationale is that weak or corrupt countries cannot effectively prosecute crimes committed within their jurisdictions. At the same time, he suggests that crimes committed against Americans abroad be prosecuted here in "special courts." He also calls for transnational asset forfeiture, in which victimized countries would share in the forfeiture of assets seized in cooperating jurisdictions. While well intentioned,...
