Washington, DC, public schools will require that all students and staff test negative for the coronavirus before they are allowed to come back from Thanksgiving break. “To support a safe return from Thanksgiving break, all students and staff are expected to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test,” the district website reads. “Families should test their students and upload test results…on Sunday, November 27.”

During comments to the press Thanksgiving morning, President Joe Biden criticized the sale of semiautomatic firearms saying it “has no social redeeming value.” MSNBC published video of Biden saying, “The idea we still allow semiautomatic weapons to be purchased is sick. It has no social redeeming value.”

One-third said Thanksgiving has been impacted by inflation, a survey from The Economist/YouGov found. According to the survey, the plans of 34 percent of Americans have been affected by price increases. This includes a plurality of Republicans (43 percent), one-third of Democrats (33 percent), and over a quarter of independents (27 percent) who said the same.

A Brighton Beach organization started by a Holocaust survivor is giving back by gifting turkeys to Ukrainian mothers who fled the country during the war.
