Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) said Sunday on ABCâs âThis Weekâ that President-elect Donald Trump is a âsingular political talentâ with a sense of âfearlessness.â Fetterman said, âIâve been warning people, like, you got to chill out, you know? The constant, you know, freakout, itâs not helpful. So, you know, pack a lunch. Pace yourself because he hasnât even taken office yet.â

Following President Bidenâs dramatic exit from the presidential race, Kamala Harris has not only seized the presidential baton but taken command of the 2024 campaign. Beginning with her first appearance at Bidenâs Wilmington, Del., headquarters, Harris went on the attack. Recapping her career, the vice president described prosecuting âpredators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain.â With a rhetorical flourish, Harris added this sharp retort: âSo, hear me when I say: I know Donald Trumpâs type.â After Trump reneged on a scheduled ABC News debate in September, Harris deadpanned that...

Former CNN CEO Chris Licht was spotted during Oscars week seemingly without a care in the world at the San Vicente Bungalows, Hollywoodâs starriest private club. The ousted news exec was seen solo in the corner of the Los Angeles clubâs private open air library, texting away on his phone with his feet up. Maybe Lichtâs had the last laugh after all? The self-proclaimed âmost trusted name in newsâ is fighting an uphill battle to remain relevant two years after Discovery took it over, sources tell us. Anderson Cooper remains as the networkâs only primetime star after CNN axed Chris...

Forget the conventional wisdom about firing irreplaceable employees. Because if your employees arenât irreplaceable, youâre doing something wrong. Credit: Gorodenkoff / ShutterstockâThe graveyards,â General De Gaulle once ironically observed, âare full of indispensable men.â Maybe so, but the same may not be so easily said about organizations whose success did depend on irreplaceable managers and staff.Take, for example, Apple. Under Steve Jobs it created the iPod, iPhone, App Store, and iPad â products and services that ranged from radical departures to entirely new concepts.Under Tim Cook? What his Apple has introduced to the marketplace are copycat items: A streaming service,...

Before the pandemic, many associates at professional service firms â e.g., consulting, financial, legal and accounting â spent long hours in the office. They often tried to maximize face time by staying late at their desks to impress their boss. During the pandemic, however, these associates worked from home. The practice of face time broke down since the boss could not see the associates slaving in their offices late at night. Yet, foreshadowing the future, the work at these firms was done well at home. To continue to attract top talent and improve productivity, professional service firms must shift away...

Recently, I was mesmerized by a prep cook. At a strip-mall Korean restaurant, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen and stood dumbfounded for a few minutes, watching a guy slicing garnishes, expending half the energy I would if I were doing the same at home and at twice the speed. The economy of his cooking was magnetic. He moved so little, but did so much. Being a prep cook is hard, low-wage, and essential work, as the past year has so horribly proved. It is also a âlow-skillâ job held by âlow-skill workers,â at least in the eyes of...

The guy flying the 3 kites is in his 80s, and he's from Canada. He comes to the Washington State International Kite Festival every year. His skin is like leather as he normally flies with his shirt off. He is deaf, so when he flies we hold our hands up and wave them for applause. He flies 2 with his hands and the 3rd one is attached to his waist. Enjoy! You must watch to the end to see the a mazing landing of that last kite! I would have those kites so tangled up, you could never get them...

A planned rally against mass shootings canât be held on the Mall later this month because it conflicts with whatâs described in a National Park Service permit application as a âtalent show.â A permit application filed last week by survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school massacre indicated the âMarch For Our Livesâ rally will be on March 24, with up to 500,000 attendees expected. Mike Litterst, a spokesman for the Park Service, said organizers proposed holding the event on the Mall but were looking to move the rally to another location after the request conflicted with a film crewâs permit....

Canadian stuntman and sword swallower Ryan Stock has been impressing the judges all season by sticking items in his nose, putting a blow torch out on his tongue and holding a chainsaw in his mouth. During Tuesday night's live trick, Stock swallowed a long rod with a small target on the end and bent forward for his fiancée, AmberLynn Walker, to take aim. Using a crossbow and a flaming arrow, Walker fired a bolt at the target and missed, striking Stock near his neck. The mishap left judges Heidi Klum Howie Mandel, Mel B., and Simon Cowell in shock as...

When you're battling for something as important as the US presidency -and you've got financial resources and a lengthy record of success launching new ventures into the business and entertainment spheres- most observers would surely expect to see a guy like Donald Trump roll into Iowa with a polished, professional organization based on sound principles of what's worked in the past... as conservative politics -and most sound business decisions- are grounded in. I know that's what I thought we'd be seeing... Something more along-the-lines of the impressive campaign thatTed Cruz has bolted together. Instead we get an hyper-arrogant Trump...
