Rushing thru the Indy airport, saw a couple guys in uniform sitting by themselves. We spoke and it turned out they were returning from Iraq. I told em "thank you for what you have done there". Man you shoulda seen their faces light up. We spoke some more and they said they felt we are really starting to get it done around Baghdad but they were pissed you couldn't see it yet in the news stateside. I kinda had the feeling that they expected no one to care, I was glad I was there but it made me mad later...

At our normal weekly counter-protest against the Toxic Left extremists on the corner of College Rd & Oleander Dr. in Wilmington, NC, the Toxic Leftists announced their intentions to protest on Memorial Day. Despicable enough in itself, they are expecting no counter-protest on top of it. We have decided to show up anyway. Our signage is in the vein of Protest Warrior. our numbers our few (1-3), but our guerrila tactics work like a charm. Please, if it is at all possible show up tomorrow anytime from 10AM-1PM. 20+ signs are available if you don't have any. Join us to...

Controversies surrounding art and the American flag are nothing new. A painting of a swastika inside an American flag caused such a stir in Carrboro, N.C. in 2003 that some citizens called for the mayor's resignation. The painting — by a Jew — had been hanging behind the mayor's desk following an anti-war exhibit. The mayor kept his job, but the painting was taken down. And now a drama of the same vein is playing out in the lobby of Canandaigua National Bank & Trust Co. headquarters on South Main. The piece, "Flag Target," is part of an exhibit by...

Imagine an entire school coming together to make batches and batches of Rice Krispies treats to send to U.S. troops overseas. That's exactly what students at Pope John XXIII Regional Catholic School, formerly St. Mary of the Assumption School, did for two former students and their buddies, now serving in the military. Both of the former students are U.S. Marines. Cpl. Hunter Brockreide, currently on his second tour to Iraq, and Cpl. Michael Grimes, stationed in Okinawa and preparing for his first tour to Iraq, have younger siblings who attend the school. School Religion Coordinator Kathleen King thought it would...

In contrast to her presentation Thursday at Purdue University, the “peace mom” did not encounter boos or heckles from audience members. They were asked to conduct themselves “in a respectful manner” or risk being escorted out by ISU campus security, said Marcel Oliver, of the ISU Student Democrats, one of the groups sponsoring her visit. At least one...

WASHINGTON - Top House Democrats retreated Monday from an attempt to limit President Bush's authority for taking military action against Iran as the leadership concentrated on a looming confrontation with the White House over the Iraq war. Officials said Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other members of the leadership had decided to strip from a major military spending bill a requirement for Bush to gain approval from Congress before moving against Iran.

"Be careful to exercise responsibility and restraint in discussing local affairs [and] ensuring that we are competently and accurately addressing the issues," Mr. Moree stated. "The information we are disseminating must be correct. This does not mean we cannot engage in robust debate and even criticism of our local institutions or public officials, but the manner of that debate or criticism should be appropriate for an international forum. We must realize that what we say reflects on the Bahamas' impression [to the world]".

Troop Rally and Peace Fair When rumors of a U.S. troop surge hit Baghdad recently, a lot of terrorists quickly left town. Others redoubled their efforts to kill women and children with their sneaky, underhanded method of planting bombs in civilian areas. But soldiers and police were quick to seize the initiative. Dividing the city into 10 security districts, Iraqi forces recently seized a huge cache of explosives from the cowardly terrorists. And more Iraqi peacekeepers are pouring in. “We have seen a decrease (in violence) in the last three weeks, a pretty radical decrease, actually,” US Army Lieutenant...

Move America Forward 3/2/2007By Cara CookPro-troop group supports soldiers and efforts to defeat terrorism. While the media continues to prize and perpetuate the blathering of anti-war activists like Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore and MoveOn.org regarding the war in Iraq, the noteworthy efforts of a grassroots group of pro-troop citizens go largely unnoticed. Move America Forward is a non-profit organization "committed to supporting America's efforts to defeat terrorism and supporting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces." It was founded in 2004 by former California Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian and acclaimed radio and television personality Melanie Morgan (KSFO 560 AM, San...

In addition to being terrible public policy, the idea of abandoning Iraq, as promoted by the likes of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. John Murtha, isn't overwhelmingly popular with the American public, according to two new public-opinion polls. According to a poll released Feb. 20 by Public Opinion Strategies, by a margin of 53 to 46 percent, Americans agree that "The Democrats are going too far, too fast in pressing the President to withdraw the troops from Iraq." By 57-41 percent margins, voters agree with both of the following statements: "The Iraq War is...

DID YOU FEEL IT? At some point in the past few weeks, a shift occured. ... Fearing a repeat of the lawlessness and vandalism which occured in January, several groups are banding together to stand in opposition to this group of radicals. A group of Vietnam veterans calling themselves "A Gathering of Eagles" will stand vigil over the Vietnam Wall. Another group, "Move America Forward," will caravan from San Francisco to Washington DC, where they will set up a patriotic counter-rally on the National Mall. Last week, a Navy officer in Baghdad and a retired soldier began circulating a petition...

This past Sunday I was flying through Chicago from Houston. While I was waiting at Chicago O’Hare for my flight to Springfield, a flight at an adjoining gate was preparing to board. Sitting amongst all the people waiting on their flights was one soldier. The United Airlines gate agent announced that they were preparing to board a flight starting with first class. However, before first class could begin boarding she said “But before we begin boarding first class, United would like to allow” (and I cannot for the life of me remember the soldier’s name) “who just came home from...
