BAGHDAD, Iraq, April 22 (UPI) -- The Kadhimain Mosque is crowded with devout Shiite Muslims at noon prayer. Sayed Hussein Al-Hayderi greets his non-Muslim visitors with soft handshakes and a welcome to the mosque the Shiites consider the most holy in Baghdad. Speaking softly through a translator, the leader of this mosque –- who is accepted by Muslims as a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed –- calls on the American and British forces to work hard to rebuild Iraq -– and then to leave.

Tonight's Freep of the peacenics was stange. A total of 20 FReepers and Patriots showed up to demonstrate against 9 war protestors. Their leader was not there tonight so they looked like sheep looking for Little Bo Peep. Six were standing around looking uncomfortable while 3 had homemade signs printed on cardboard boxes. Guess their leader furnishes the signs in addition to signing their paychecks. Our corner is getting back to normal. The construction will probably be finished by next Friday. Someone must have called the police; we were told to get on the sidewalk. Even though the right lane...

Support is slipping for Democratic U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, and former Gov. Pete Wilson is the top choice among Republicans to replace her next year, according to a new statewide poll released Wednesday.

But despite her mediocre marks and GOP insistence that the two-term senator is vulnerable, Boxer is in virtually the same position she was one year before her re-election in 1998.

I spend more on cigarettes in 2 weeks. I spend more on lunch, every month. My cable access cost that every month(with TV). I'm not part of the fund raiser. I'll just be sorry if FR goes away because the bills can't be paid. This is a great service for us. We need to keep it going.

A Washington member of FreeRepublic (http://www.FreeRepublic.com) joined other Pacific Northwesterners in the latest of ongoing local rallies to Support Our Troops. This time it was held in the middle of the small but historic town of Carnation, Washington. Originally founded as the town of Tolt, the rising fame of the Carnation milk company whose R&D farm is close by (pictured below), resulted in the town's name change. This story. The entire set.
