BAGHDAD, Iraq, April 22 (UPI) -- The Kadhimain Mosque is crowded with devout Shiite Muslims at noon prayer. Sayed Hussein Al-Hayderi greets his non-Muslim visitors with soft handshakes and a welcome to the mosque the Shiites consider the most holy in Baghdad. Speaking softly through a translator, the leader of this mosque

Not all Shiites want us to leave NOW, as the media would have people believe.
I also kind of liked that they understand who is their friend and who isn't: "U.S. yes, U.K. yes, France no, Germany no, Russia no," shouts one man near a reporter."

After we sell we service. We'll leave when it's stabilized and not before.
Sheesh! These Arabs and their oleaginous diplomacy.

He even offers the United States a deal. "Take 5 percent of Iraqi's oil and protect Iraq," he says. "Rebuild Iraq. That is a good deal for us, because Saddam killed us and took 95 percent." Better than the "Oil for Food" program, where the UN took a 2.5% commission and Saddam spent the rest on weapons, booze and porn. Sounds like someone we can deal with.

I don't think we should 'take' any of their oil. I do think American oil companies should get the best contracts. But we should buy the oil like anyone else. As long as we come out ahead of France, Germany and Russia in the deal. I'll be satisfied.
I see a definite power struggle amongst the Shiite clerics. The hard liners allied with Iran are going to make a push for supremacy over the more moderate ones as in this story. We have to moderate the disputes, but stand firm. Weakness will only be exploited.

A "French Canadian reporter", can't wait to see what her report reads like.
Doesn't say who she works for but in French Canada it is not nice to say good things about "Freeing" the people of Iraq by the "Americans".
