A Washington member of FreeRepublic (http://www.FreeRepublic.com) joined other Pacific Northwesterners in the latest of ongoing local rallies to Support Our Troops. This time it was held in the middle of the small but historic town of Carnation, Washington. Originally founded as the town of Tolt, the rising fame of the Carnation milk company whose R&D farm is close by (pictured below), resulted in the town's name change.
This story.

As a Washingtonian, I compliment you on a job well done.

Aw shucks, thank you... But really, I'm just playing historian here. There would be nothing to see, nothing to hear
(audio clip just went upon on the Duvall Rally page [plug]), nothing to show our guys who are Over There and to try to record for posterity, if other Washingtonians weren't getting out there by the hundreds and thousands to actively show their support for the troops!
And maybe even as important as that, I'm doing this to show the ones not turning out (if they somehow see the site) what they're missing. The Right (on the Left Coast, at least) has been far too quiet, far too disconnected, far too isolated from each other, for too long. I am at least hoping that these rallies will help start bringing more of us out, get us connected, get us active. We can make a difference!

Um. The QuickTime version was blank (no video or audio), and the "Widows Media Version" wouldn't download (maybe one needs to be a widow[er]? *\;-)...
