Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell warned last month that raising interest rates to cool inflation is likely to dampen economic growth -- "and there will very likely be some softening of labor market conditions," he said. But there's no significant softening evident in Friday's jobs/employment report. On Friday, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the number of employed Americans in September rose by 204,000 to 158,936,000, a record high. The previous record, 158,735,000, was set in December 2019 when Donald Trump was president.

On Sep. 20, using data covering 9 million people, Swedish researchers published a paper showing mRNA jabs may increase the risk of Omicron infection after three months. That finding received attention. But an even more intriguing nugget in the paper has so far gone unnoticed. Based on one statistical analysis vaccinated people had a HIGHER risk of death or hospitalization from Covid roughly a year after receiving their second dose. The charts — b and d below — show that vaccine protection against death and hospitalization begins to decline slowly after about five months and then plunges about nine months....

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- Those who follow the debate on restoring Second Amendment rights have probably heard the other side proclaim some variant of:“Most victims are murdered by people they know.”The implication is defending yourself from a murderer is futile because there is no point in trying to defend yourself from a person who is close to you. This is a way of lying with statistics. The truth is far different.Few Victims Are Murdered By Someone They Live With.In 2013, this correspondent published an essay on the Misleading Murderer that you Know. The numbers were from 2010. Statistics Norway wants to receive several million daily receipts from food stores, signalling a new era in state data collection. Privacy advocates and the supermarkets themselves are unhappy. People living in Norway are used to big government. But the latest news coming out of Oslo is a surprising new step down the road of data collection that not everyone is happy with. Statistics Norway (SSB) is the state-owned entity responsible for collecting, producing and communicating statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels. Because everything about an individual living in Norway is linked to...

For many people, the Uvalde, Texas, mass shooting—which claimed the lives of at least 19 children and two adults—seemed all the more horrible after they learned it was the 27th school shooting so far this year. That fact makes it harder to view Uvalde as any kind of isolated incident. An NPR article highlighting this statistic has been shared frequently on social media. The headline, "27 school shootings have taken place so far this year," probably gave many readers the impression that gun-related killings in schools have been especially high this year, even before Uvalde. Naturally, the prospect of 26...

Four-thousand years ago, an urban civilization lived and traded on what is now the border between Pakistan and India. During the past century, thousands of artifacts bearing hieroglyphics left by this prehistoric people have been discovered. Today, a team of Indian and American researchers are using mathematics and computer science to try to piece together information about the still-unknown script. The team led by a University of Washington researcher has used computers to extract patterns in ancient Indus symbols. The study, published this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, shows distinct patterns in the symbols'...

AT-A-GLANCE • More than 1 million excess deaths have been recorded since the COVID-19 pandemic began nearly two years ago • These deaths are not all due to COVID-19, as higher numbers of deaths from heart disease, high blood pressure, dementia and other illnesses occurred during the pandemic • In separate research, a 22.9% increase in all-cause mortality was reported from March 1, 2020, to January 2, 2021, and an increase in death rates from non-COVID-19 diseases — including heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s — was noted • As of January 27, 2022, U.S. excess mortality for 2021 was about...

The Arabs of Israel Are they a "persecuted minority?" In a recent poll, 70% of Israel's Arabs declared that they identified with and felt loyalty to the Palestinians, and not to the state of Israel. Significantly, however, the same percentage (70%) declared that they would much prefer to live in Israel than in any other country in the area. If the truth hurts your narrative, you must censor it. But what if your own information harms your own narrative? Well, then you stop publishing it. For the past few months, Scotland has been publishing age-stratified case rates by vaccination status in a very well broken-down chart every Wednesday afternoon, similar to the way the U.K. published the data every Thursday. The common thread observed from these trends was that the unvaccinated had the lowest case rate, the double-vaccinated had even higher death and hospitalization rates, and the triple-jabbed gradually had increasingly higher case rates, which clearly doesn’t portend good...

You asked Please can you advise on deaths purely from covid with no other underlying causes. We said Thank you for your request. We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is derived from death certificates in the process of death registration. For mortality figures where COVID-19 was the sole cause of death, please see: Pre-existing conditions of people whose death was recorded with an underlying cause of COVID-19, this dataset can be found in section 8 of the Monthly mortality analysis bulletin. This dataset provides a greater insight into the leading pre-existing cause...

Roughly 30% of all anti-Semitic incidents reported worldwide in 2021 occurred in the US, according to a new report by the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization. The US had the second largest number of anti-Semitic incidents reported last year, after Europe. Broken down by state, New York had the largest number of anti-Semitic incidents in 2021, followed by California, Florida, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Texas, where a gunman held four people hostage at a synagogue last Saturday, ranked number six. The figures tended to correlate with the size of local Jewish populations in absolute terms. New York, California, and...

Over the past few years, I've encountered various statistics that ruined my day, so to spread the pain, I've collected a few here. Let's start with: 1. The nuclear family fades in the USA: According to a Pew Research study, the United States has the highest number of children living in single-parent households. Almost one fourth (23%) of children in the U.S. under the age of 18 live with one parent and no other adult, which is the highest in the world. 2. Astronomical debt: Our national debt in 2021 was over 28 trillion dollars. This was 122% of GDP....

Federal agencies don’t count what politicians don’t want to know. President Biden and other Democrats continuously invoke “science and data” to sanctify all their Covid-19 mandates and policies, but the same shenanigans and willful omissions have characterized Covid data.During his update on his Winter Covid Campaign on Tuesday, President Biden declared, “Almost everyone who has died from COVID-19 in the past many months has been unvaccinated.” This was true from the start of the pandemic in early 2020, until the vaccines’ efficacy began failing badly in recent months. Oregon officially classifies roughly a quarter of its Covid fatalities since August...

Fauci admitted on TV that when a kid comes into a hospital for say a broken leg. The hospital will test him for covid. Rumble — Pfizer reported that its vaccine shows a 95% efficacy. That sounds like it protects you 95% of the time. But that's not what that number actually means. That is the relative risk reduction which does NOT tell you what your overall risk is reduced by vaccination. For that number, we need to look at absolute risk reduction. Time only 118 seconds of pure information!
