CBS) CHICAGO Starbucks may pride itself on serving its coffee hot, but a woman from the western suburbs has filed a lawsuit saying her drink was too hot. Carrie Hernandez said in a lawsuit that a male worker at the Starbucks at 1560 Premium Outlets Blvd. in Aurora spilled and splashed hot coffee on her on Dec. 11, 2004. The lawsuit claimed Hernandez suffered suffered "severe and permanent injuries" from the coffee spill, the suit says, which have caused her "great pain and suffering, both physical and mental."

SEATTLE -- If you're a coffee drinker, Starbucks has a treat for you Wednesday morning, March 15. The company is offering customers a complimentary cup of freshly brewed coffee. The offer's good at its more than 7,500 Starbucks around the country between 10 a.m. and noon in a promotion dubbed the National Coffee Break. Starbucks expects to pour more than 500,000 tall (12-ounce) cups. For customers who can't make it to the restaurants, Starbucks employees will take coffee to them using mobile-sampling "Venti Vans" and insulated coffee backpacks.
