SEATTLE -- If you're a coffee drinker, Starbucks has a treat for you Wednesday morning, March 15.

The company is offering customers a complimentary cup of freshly brewed coffee. The offer's good at its more than 7,500 Starbucks around the country between 10 a.m. and noon in a promotion dubbed the National Coffee Break.

Starbucks expects to pour more than 500,000 tall (12-ounce) cups. For customers who can't make it to the restaurants, Starbucks employees will take coffee to them using mobile-sampling "Venti Vans" and insulated coffee backpacks.

BTW, I guess it's now too late for those on the East Coast, but in the West, you still have time.

I actually saw a line of people waiting outside a starbucks a few minutes ago for 10am to arrive.

Is this their idea of "sticking it to the man"?

Really. Most of the people leave Starbucks with an ice cream float anyway

The coffee may be free, but I bet they charge you $5.00 for the container.

It's not in the pot long enough to burn it. It is stronger than your usual warery airline colored water. That said, just as a warning, never drink coffee in Europe or South America. A lot of Americans like weak coffee. When we brew ours at home, we double the reommended qyantity of beans to water.

Some people think their typical beans are overroasted. I dunno. I like their coffee just fine, and their espresso is usually pretty decent.

It sure beats 20 years ago when it was extremely difficult to find espresso.

Who wouldn't? It's true that it isn't as good as hot battery acid, but Starbuck's is the next best thing.
