A Connecticut high school sprinter who sued the state for permitting transgender participation in female sports says she lost four state titles and called it a devastating experience. "I've lost four women's state championship titles, two all-New England awards, and numerous other spots on the podium to transgender runners," Chelsea Mitchell wrote Tuesday for the USA Today. "I was bumped to third place in the 55-meter dash in 2019, behind two transgender runners. With every loss, it gets harder and harder to try again. "That's a devastating experience. It tells me that I'm not good enough; that my body isn't...

A Texas high school sprinter set an incredible mark at a 100-meter event Saturday. Matthew Boling, of Strake Jesuit College Prep in Houston, set a 9.98 mark at the Region III-6A track and field event. The 18-year-old posted a video of his sprint on Twitter and said “New PR and 100m high school record all conditions, 9.98.” Other social media users immediately dubbed him “White Lightning.” Boling’s mark was the fastest time by an American under 20 years old, according to Yahoo Australia. However, the mark wouldn’t be considered a national record because he received a 4.2 mph tailwind. Boling...

While the cold air was rushing in last evening @dendenator from Sommerville tweeted me asking me if there would be 1 to 3 inches of snow. I quickly replied, no, you might be lucky if you see a flake. Well, I guess there was an abundance of luck this morning as the ground has become coated with snow in many places. The good news is we didn’t see 1 to 3 inches of snow, the bad news is early commuters will have to use winter driving skills one more time. Cold air has been pouring into the country for the...

Her five medals from the 2000 Olympics are at risk after allegations in the Balco steroid case. LONDON - The IOC opened an investigation yesterday into doping allegations against Marion Jones, who could eventually be stripped of her five medals from the 2000 Olympics. In this 2000 photo, Marion Jones shows off the five gold medals she won in the Olympics in Sydney, Australia. International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge set up a disciplinary commission to look into the claims made by Victor Conte, head of the California-based lab accused of illegally distributing steroids. Conte told ABC's 20/20 in a...
