CV NEWS FEED // A recent analysis by State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) Executive Vice President Noah Wall showed that the recent trend of urban crosswalks being painted in “pride” colors is likely not the result of spontaneous decisions by local municipalities but the work of a national LGBTQ activist group. Wall wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Monday that he noticed the surge of rainbow “pride” crosswalks popping up in cities across the country “and haven’t seen sufficient explanation as to why it’s happening, so I decided to do some research.” “Most of the news about these crosswalks has been...

Three teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly vandalized a Pride flag-painted intersection in Spokane, Washington by leaving skid marks with the Lime scooters they were riding on. Police received a 911 call about multiple people on scooters "causing damage to the newly painted Pride mural" on June 5 just after 9 pm, according to the Spokane Police Department. Four suspects were reportedly seen damaging the mural, while several witnesses said that one of the subjects yelled obscenities at them before leaving the area. Officers said the damage to the mural was "black scuff marks consistent with scooter wheels," and...

I try to be a good neighbor and get in the spirit of things in the neighborhood. At Christmas, I put up some lights on the front of the house. The really smart neighbor lady at Church kept talking about her "crèche". I didn't want to appear any more ignorant than I am (and some people say they don't think that's possible) so I didn't ask her what a crèche is. Using my superior talents of deduction, I figured that crèche was French for "creek". I like to be a part of the conversation, so I told her that we...

The notorious underwear bomber's plot in 2009 to blow up a plane on Christmas Day failed because the explosives became 'degraded' after he wore the same pair of underpants for two weeks, according to a U.S. official. Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was on a suicide mission when he attempted to detonate a bomb in his underpants as the plane, en route from Amsterdam, approached Detroit.

Passengers remove trousers for No Pants Subway Ride Despite a cold snap across much of the northern world, users of public transit systems in a number of cities took off their trousers for No Pants Day. The event, which began in New York City in 2002, sees participants with bare legs mingling with other passengers. Organisers Improv Everywhere say 3,000 people took part in New York with more in 43 other cities in 16 countries. The group says its mission is to cause "scenes of chaos and joy in public places". Participants were told to meet at a designated train...

No, it wasn't your imagination. Pants were in short supply along four lines of the New York City subway system on Saturday. The No Pants! Subway Ride, organized by Improv Everywhere each January, is a chance for New Yorkers to ride the rails unencumbered by the burden of jeans, slacks or trousers. http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/weird/Undeground-Pants-Down.html

It's been a while since I've been here and I forgot my previous name, so I signed up again to post this.

I don't think I'll be back here again. I have nothing against anyone, but there hardly seems to be a point. I've come to realize that concepts like "freedom" and "conservatism" are just illusions -- pipe dreams. The reality is that if you live in Outer Moogooland, then you need to elect somebody who will help Outer Moogooland. Better yet, elect somebody you can count on to help you personally.

Seven per cent of Norwegian men and six per cent of women wear the same pair of undies for at least a whole week before changing to a fresh pair, according to a new poll. Norwegians with a high level of education change their underwear less often than those with a lower level of schooling, the survey of 1000 Norwegians, conducted by polling institute ACNielsen, showed. However, 65 per cent of those questioned say they pull on a fresh pair once a day, while 4 per cent say they change twice a day. Those least likely to change their knickers...
