What’s a good analogy for Signal, the commercial, publicly available encryption app?Have you ever watched a public hearing of the Senate or House Intelligence Committee? It happens almost every time: A witness from one of our intelligence agencies is asked a question that, whether the interrogating lawmaker realizes it or not, calls for an answer that includes national defense information — in the main, classified intelligence.... So what happens next is a commonplace: The agency official will tell the panel that he or she cannot answer the question in public, but may be willing to address the matter in the...

The new CEO for National Public Radio (NPR) has become instant news over social media postings that she deleted before the recent announcement of her selection. Katherine Maher is the former CEO of Wikipedia and sought to remove controversial postings on subjects ranging from looters to Trump. Shannon Thaler at the New York Post reassembled Maher’s deleted postings including a 2018 declaration that “Donald Trump is a racist” and a variety of race-based commentary. That included a statement that appeared to excuse looting: She is also quoted for saying that “white silence is complicity.” She has described her own “hysteric...

Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk called NPR CEO Katherine Maher "one of the worst human beings in America" in connection with comments she made in an interview three years ago while she was with Wikipedia. "Katherine Maher is blatantly racist and sexist — one of the worst human beings in America," Musk posted on X on Thursday afternoon along with a film clip from Maher's 2021 interview with Trevor Noah, former host of "The Daily Show." In a post containing the video, X user @Maze commented that the clip was of "current CEO of NPR Katherine Maher in...

The Color Revolution is restless. Beginning in the former Soviet republics in the early 2000s, it moved along the coast of North Africa with the so-called Arab Spring in the 2010s, and, into the current decade, has spread further. The ostensible purpose of Color Revolutions—named after the Rose Revolution, Orange Revolution, and Tulip Revolution in Georgia, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan, respectively—is to replace authoritarian regimes with Western liberal democracies. American and European intelligence services are often heavily involved in these revolutions, with ambitions not only to spread modern ideologies but also to undermine geopolitical opponents. The West’s favored methods of supporting...

Cackles rang out on Capitol Hill Wednesday as NPR's CEO argued her newsroom isn't biased. The response was seen during Katherine Maher's congressional testimony Wednesday, where NPR is facing losing its federal funding. Presiding over the matter is Georgia firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene, but it was a back-and-forth between Maher and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan that elicited the laugh. I was speaking with my nephew earlier this evening. He floated the idea that since U.S. District Judge James Boasberg has been assigned the Signal-gate case, President Trump should offer a blanket pardon to everyone on that chat with the reporter being the exception. That President Trump should just do this tomorrow or as soon as possible. The blanket pardons done by Biden is now the baseline. In fact, for every suit the Dems bring up, President Trump should issue a blanket pardon for any and all parties involved. What say you, Freepers?

It wasn’t that long ago that Democrats praised Signal App as the “gold standard” of encrypted messaging. It was The Atlantic that published the report praising Signal and in the report they admit that Hillary Clinton and Obama staffers used the app. Via Patriots Are In Control. Senator Mark Warner used Signal to meet with Russia Collusion hoaxer Christopher Steele. Yep. Democrats are such hypocrites…Senator Mark Warner (VA) used Signal to meet with the disgraced Christopher Steele to obtain the Steele Dossier. pic.twitter.com/1Vkx3CsEn4— Amy Kremer (@AmyKremer) March 25, 2025Despite all of this, Democrats are trying desperately to make “Signalgate” a...

Recent court documents have indicated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) possesses a tool allowing them to access encrypted messages on the Signal app. Signal has rapidly gained in popularity as Silicon Valley monopolists have grown more openly hostile to free speech, but the platform may be vulnerable to backdoors that undermine the privacy protections provided through the encrypted messaging service. According to documents filed by the Department of Justice and first obtained by Forbes, Signal’s encrypted messages can be intercepted from iPhone devices when those Apple devices are in a mode called “partial AFU,” which means “after first...

In the first week of January, Telegram surpassed 500 million monthly active users. After that it kept growing: 25 million new users joined Telegram in the last 72 hours alone. These new users came from across the globe – 38% from Asia, 27% from Europe, 21% from Latin America and 8% from MENA. This is a significant increase compared to last year, when 1.5M new users signed up every day. We've had surges of downloads before, throughout our 7-year history of protecting user privacy. But this time is different. People no longer want to exchange their privacy for free services....

Tech CEO Elon Musk has urged his almost 42 million Twitter followers to use secure messaging app Signal instead of Facebook products. In a series of tweets, Musk shared a meme referencing Facebook’s role in the spread of misinformation leading to the attack on Congress this week and suggested people should use the Signal app. The tweets seem to have been prompted by a recent change to Facebook’s privacy policy. As reported by The Hacker News, the new updates allow more sharing of data between Facebook and its partner company WhatsApp, including the sharing of phone numbers, interactions on the...

Tech mogul Elon Musk -- known as widely for slinging cars into the sun's orbit as he is for advocating against COVID-19 safety measures -- took to Twitter Thursday to slam Facebook over its latest privacy policy updates for its supposedly secure encrypted messaging app WhatsApp. Musk instead recommended users choose encrypted messaging app Signal. This isn't the first time Musk has publicly sparred with Facebook over privacy concerns. In 2018, he not only had his own personal Facebook page removed, but those of his companies Tesla and SpaceX. His take on the long-fought battle between Signal and WhatsApp isn't...
