At least three people were killed and 14 others were wounded, including a 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys, in Chicago over the weekend. Two men were found dead in a home Friday in Gresham on the South Side. Officers responded about 6:30 p.m. to a home in the 8300 block of South Sangamon Street and found the bodies of two men, both 51, Chicago police said. One of the men had a gunshot wound to his head, police said. Both deaths were ruled homicides. A girl, 15, was in an alley in the 5900 block of West Patterson Avenue...

Jun082018 The State of Lincoln In political terms, the state of Illinois is a vassal of the seeping carbuncle of corruption, moonbattery, and political dysfunction that launched the career of Barack Obama. No matter how the regular Americans in the rest of the state might vote, the entrenched leftists in Chicago will impose their will. This disenfranchises the millions who do not live in Cook County, depriving them of self-determination and forcing them to go down with a sinking ship. Since kicking Chicago out of the state isn’t practical, Illinoisans have settled on the next best option. They want to break...
  • Bobby Rush calls Mark Kirk's idea to arrest Gangster Disciple members 'elitist white boy solution'

Congressman Bobby Rush and Senator Mark Kirk are at odds over how to crackdown on gang violence in Chicago. Politicians talk about all the time about solving Chicago's devastating street violence problem and the latest talk has pitted one Illinois lawmaker against another. After meeting with the nominee for U.S. attorney Wednesday, Kirk spoke about the use of federal laws to go after one of the largest gangs in Chicago, the Gangster Disciples, with mass arrests. "I think it is completely within the capability of the United States government to crush a major urban gang," Kirk said. Chicago Congressman Bobby Rush...
  • Slap-happy Jack (Ryan) kidding himself about running for Senate (Illinois)

He's the most happy fella. Jack Ryan, 43, the North Shore investment banker, is running for the U.S. Senate on a platform of happiness and light. ''I just feel so much love in this room right now,'' Happy Jack declared at his campaign kickoff the other day at Hales Franciscan High School, where he gave up an investment banking career to teach a few courses. ''Every major religion says that happiness comes not from seeking our own fulfillment but from seeking the fulfillment of others,'' he said. ''We've got to start looking out for one another's happiness." Ryan, who has...
  • Chicago, Guns, Criminals and Lawyers - Still going after the cash!

CHICAGO, GUNS, CRIMINALS AND LAWYERS - STILL GOING AFTER THE CASH MARK A SITY 11/17/02 A law suit by the city of Chicago was just allowed to go forward by an appellate court against gun makers and sellers. On it's face it is just plain silly. One of my first published editorials to the local rag warned about this, I believe I titled it "Who's Job Next?" The tobacco cash grab started the ball rolling, and I predicted that other industries would soon be in the lawyer's sights if they pulled that one off. Well, they pulled it off; and...
