Leading House Democrats distanced themselves Monday from top progressive Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s characterization of Israel as a “racist state” over the weekend as official Washington prepares for a visit by the Jewish state’s president, Isaac Herzog. Jayapal (D-Wash.), who chairs the Congressional Progressive Caucus, made the controversial retort while seeking to assuage protesters at the progressive Netroots Nation conference on Saturday. She later walked the comment back, but party leaders quickly tried to make clear she didn’t speak for them. “Israel is not a racist state,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) and Caucus Chair...

A new study reveals that the UN aid agency, UNRWA, continues to educate Palestinian children about hatred and anti-Semitism, despite its commitments to avoid incitement. This is a new low… We’ve seen Palestinian extremists like Hamas use women and children as human shields, but today they used the dead body of #ShireenAbuAkleh as a human shield as rioters destroyed neighborhoods in Jerusalem

It turns out last weekend’s violent white-power protest in Virginia was spurred in part by an ex-con and one-time Silicon Valley resident who’s about to bring his bare-knuckled activism back to the Bay Area. Nathan Damigo is not a techie. But the former Marine infantryman and convicted armed robber who founded the Oakdale-based white-nationalist group Identity Evropa grew up and went to school in San Jose before following a path into alt-right power politics. Damigo, who made the news after he was arrested for punching a woman in the face during the so-called “Battle for Berkeley” on April 15, now...

Who knew David Duke mattered? Cable news made the former wizard of the KKK quite visible in Charlottesville, at what planners billed as the largest gathering of the "alt-right community." The "Unite the Right" rally encouraged the like-minded to go to and demonstrate in Charlottesville, Virginia. Counter-protesters, of course, showed up, and many violent clashes ensued. When the dust settled, a woman had been killed and 19 injured when a suspect apparently intentionally drove his car into a crowd of people, although the matter remains under investigation. Two police officers died when their patrol helicopter crashed. Duke got considerable airtime...

Boston and Dallas have one each. New York City has not one, but two Malcolm X boulevards, along with a playground. Washington D.C. has Malcolm X Avenue. The Los Angeles City Council renamed the intersection near the Bilal Islamic Center, Malcolm X Way. These are a few of the hundreds of streets, schools, and assorted other civic infrastructure named after the black supremacist leader who worked together with the KKK and the American Nazi Party.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, Minnesota Democrat, has an ally of a new stripe in the furor over her use of anti-Semitic tropes regarding Israel and its American supporters — David Duke. In a Thursday podcast at his site, the former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard spoke out strongly in favor of the Muslim Congresswoman who has accused Jewish lawmakers of dual loyalty, attributed support for Israel to foreign money, and said Israel has “hypnotized” the world. “By defiance to Z.O.G. Ilhan Omar is NOW the most important Member of the US Congress!” Mr. Duke wrote on his site, using the acronym...

Buddy Roemer, who rode a message of reform in the 1987 governor’s race to vault over three challengers and “slay the dragon” — scandal-torn three-time Gov. Edwin Edwards — but who lost reelection four years later to the same rival, died Monday in Baton Rouge. Roemer was 77. He had been ill for months. Roemer was a Democrat-turned-Republican, but he seemed too independent and headstrong to fit well in either party. He never followed the precept that to get ahead in politics, you had to get along with other politicians. With his sharp mind, he understood all the angles of...

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began last week, most Israeli leaders across the political spectrum have either expressed full support for Ukrainians or cautiously supported a neutral approach for strategic reasons, fearful of harming the country’s interests in Russia-controlled Syria. A minority on the right, however, has gone as far as to express a measure of sympathy and identification with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s justifications for Russia asserting a historic claim to Ukrainian territory. “People in Russia suit Putin’s rule. Kyiv is Russia’s birthplace. Kyiv for Putin is like Bethlehem and Hebron,” said Maj. Gen. (ret.) Gershon Hacohen, a senior...

A Nashville, Tennessee, woman who got tired of men ghosting her after dates created an innovative and unique strategy to find out what went wrong. Shanna, 30, shared a now-viral TikTok earlier this month where she revealed that she created an exit interview test for men to understand why they left her on “read.” In her video, she explained that she went on a Bumble date and soon after, tragedy struck: He stopped texting her. Shanna posted screenshots of her survey that had questions such as, “Why did you ghost Shanna?” and “What could Shanna do to stop getting ghosted?”

The IDF's spokesman in Arabic, Avichai Edrai, reveals: In a joint operation by the IDF and the GSS, Hamas' terrorist infrastructure at al-Najah University was exposed and thwarted. Ilhan Omar and Jan Schakowsky managed to get through the House a bill that promises to criticize speech with which Omar disagrees. In his 1925 autobiography, Mein Kampf, Adolf Hitler spewed page after page of hatred for the Jewish people, proclaiming what he would do if he rose to power. When the Holocaust ensued, only the most uninformed or disingenuous could claim not to have realized that Hitler meant to eliminate Jews off the face of the earth. Since the end of World War II, anti-Semitism has become more indirect, with attacks upon Jews being blamed on other factors than...

On Monday, singing sensation Billie Eilish, only 19 years old, confessed to Howard Stern that she had started watching porn movies on TV while still in grade school. “I used to watch a lot of porn, to be honest. I started watching when I was like 11.” Eilish believes that her habit — it started with entry-level, “normal” porn and spiraled downward into more extreme forms — really warped her mind. “It got to a point where I couldn’t watch anything else unless it was violent,” she admitted. As a result, her ideas about sex and relationships became “warped.” Eilish’s...
