Dude is using an earpiece. He’s always been obsessed with the Secret Service agents, badges, and G-men. The natural way to pronounce the name is to look at the Teleprompter as you say it. He figures the pronunciation out with his eyes closed. Someone is whispering in his ear! It’s obvious https://twitter.com/RNCResearch/status/1655733244317319171

President Joe Biden urged Congress to work toward a bipartisan solution on gun violence on Monday, one day after visiting the Texas town where a gunman took the lives of 19 elementary school children and their two teachers last week. 'I think things have gotten so bad that everybody is getting more rational about it - at least that's my hope and prayer,' the president told reporters outside of the White House. Biden recounted been shown x-rays of what a firearm could do to the human body. 'The .22 caliber bullet will lodge in the lungs and we can get...

The GOP's 2008 presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, says the 2016 campaign is like none other because candidates in both parties are tapping into the "frustration and anger" of voters.[snip] "You see a frustration and anger which then rejects the establishment," he added. "[Sen. Ted] Cruz has tapped into it, [Vermont Sen. Bernie] Sanders has tapped into it, [Donald] Trump…" "Anybody that says he can shoot somebody and still get elected, that's beyond any framework of politics that I've ever seen," the Arizona lawmaker said, USA Today reports.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) thinks the healthcare law will ultimately help Senate Democrats in 2014 even though some incumbents fear a backlash at the polls. “I think for sure it will be a net positive,” said Reid, who expects the law to become more of a political benefit as problems are smoothed out by Election Day. “I think so by then for sure.” Reid said feedback to the Obama administration from Democratic senators has helped improve the federal enrollment site HealthCare.gov since its disastrous launch in October. “It’s gotten significantly better, but it was significantly bad so it...

Um…is Harry Reid losing it? The historic Senate version of the Health Care bill passed on Christmas Eve last year, was almost derailed when the Senate Majority Leader notoriously and mistakenly voted ‘no’ before quickly changing it to yes. Getting the vote wrong on such an historic vote is a once-in-a-lifetime mistake, right? Alas, no it is not, for lightening appears have struck twice for the Nevada Senator. Or to quote an unidentified clerk picked up by a nearby microphone, “he did it again!"

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. On the other hand, it does not show much honesty, integrity, or conviction. The latest test of this principle is to watch “1st tier” presidential candidate Mitt Romney start to emulate the political philosophy of “2nd tier” candidate Ron Paul. Ron Paul has been in favor of small government since he became a Congressman. He has been in Congress for ten terms or twenty years. (Ron Paul is currently listed with 8 to 1 odds of becoming the next US President) Throughout that time he has consistently advocated that we strictly...

As markets went on a rollercoaster ride last week, our economy is coming close to a day of reckoning for loose credit policies being followed by the Federal Reserve Bank. Simply, foreign banks we have been relying on to buy our debt are waking up to the reality of much higher default rates than predicted, and many mortgage backed securities have been reduced to “junk” ratings. Wall Street fears the possibility of tightening credit and the tightening of America’s belts. Why, they say, “if Americans spend only what they can afford, think of the ripple effects throughout the economy!” This...

Republican presidential candidate, Rep. Ron Paul, said the country is in "great danger" of the U.S. government staging a terrorist attack or a Gulf of Tonkin style provocation, as the war in Iraq continues to deteriorate. The Texas congressman offered no specifics nor mentioned President Bush by name, but he clearly insinuated that the administration would not be above staging an incident to revive flagging support. During the radio interview, Paul said the government was conducting "an orchestrated effort to blame the Iranians for everything that has gone wrong in Iraq."

Local war heroes and conservative bloggers say they don’t need Canadian anti-war rocker Neil Young around, anyhow. Young’s new album, “Living With War,” with its call for President Bush’s impeachment, is being dismissed as a feeble blast at the war by a wrinkled hippie whose life span has exceeded his relevance. Marine Lance Cpl. James Crosby of Saugus, who pushed for legislation to aid wounded soldiers, said the men and women fighting in Iraq, and the ones who came before them, are buying Young’s freedom of expression. “People are going to have their opinion,” said Crosby, who lost the use...

Former CBS anchor Walter Cronkite, whose 1968 conclusion that the Vietnam War was unwinnable keenly influenced public opinion then, said Sunday he'd say the same thing today about Iraq. "It's my belief that we should get out now," Cronkite said in a meeting with reporters. Now 89, the television journalist once known as "the most trusted man in America" has been off the "CBS Evening News" for nearly a quarter- century. He's still a CBS News employee, although he does little for them. Cronkite said one of his proudest moments came at the end of a 1968 documentary he made...

The war in Iraq: No, Mr. Murtha We have immense respect for Jack Murtha, the 16-term U.S. congressman representing Pennsylvania's 12th Congressional District. Our repeated endorsements of the Johnstown Democrat are testament to that. Mr. Murtha has been a consistent champion for a strong military. And when this decorated Vietnam War veteran speaks, people listen to the ex-Marine who now is the ranking Democrat on the House Defense Appropriations subcommittee. Friend and foe alike. And that's why we have such serious concerns about what Mr. Murtha, who voted for the war in Iraq in 2002, had to say about it...

Firefighters extinguish a burning car in Strasbourg Officers at the forefront of attempts to control the wave of riots and arson attacks across France are furious at moves to prosecute policemen accused of assaulting a youth. As officers were deployed in force in Paris yesterday following a call on weblogs for a mass demonstration, the police union described the...
