According to an analysis by FiveThirtyEight's Seth Masket, any chance that the Republican Party will return to its more moderate ways is being undercut by supporters of Donald Trump who are taking over local parties and punishing any lawmaker who doesn't toe the Trump line. As Masket notes, censuring of candidates used ... read full story

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)-— On March 8, 2022, the Indiana legislature, on the last day of the session, after byzantine twists and turns of the legislative process, voted to pass Constitutional Carry legislation three hours before the session ended for the year. Indiana Second Amendment activists have been working to pass similar legislation for years. In 2021, a Constitutional Carry (permitless) bill passed the House 64 to 31, before being killed in the Senate Judiciary Committee chaired by Liz Brown (R -15).In 2022, Senator Brown worked hard to kill a new bill, and came very close to succeeding. In 2022, the Republican...

COLUMBUS, Ohio — As of June 12, you no longer need a permit or training to carry a concealed handgun in Ohio. Gov. Mike DeWine on Monday signed Republican-backed legislation to allow people in the state to carry a concealed handgun without a permit or training and no longer require them to proactively tell law enforcement during traffic stops that they’re armed.

Video footage shows a Wisconsin state crime lab technician destroying the AR-15 rifle that Kyle Rittenhouse used to shoot three people during a racial injustice protest in Kenosha two years ago. Rittenhouse wanted the firearm destroyed so it couldn’t be used as a political symbol or ‘trophy.’

The shifting sands of Democrat gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke’s gun control plans have solidified, for now, into a pledge to buy back AR-15s and AK-47s from Texans if the state legislature will support doing it. O’Rourke spoke with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith on Saturday and KVUE reported O’Rourke’s comments.

Democratic Assemblymember Jim Cooper, who represents the 9th District — which includes parts of Sacramento and San Joaquin counties — was found with a loaded pistol last week, Transportation Security Administration officials confirmed to Politico. Cooper, a former sheriff’s deputy, told the political news outlet he was legally able to possess a firearm in an airport. His office also said that the pistol was in his bag by accident. TSA regulations forbid the possession of a loaded firearm in checked or carry-on baggage but permit carrying a firearm and ammunition separately in checked baggage. Politico also notes that “a retired...

The gunman who killed his three daughters, a chaperone who was supervising his visit with the children and himself in a Sacramento County church was known to have struggled with mental health issues, officials said. New details also reveal that David Mora Rojas, 39, also used a "ghost gun" in the shooting. Mora Rojas also overstayed his visa after entering California from his native Mexico on Dec. 17, 2018, on a non-immigrant visitor visa, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Alethea Smock told The Associated Press.

On Wednesday, New York State Court Justice Joel Cohen ruled that NY Attorney General Letitia James cannot dissolve the National Rifle Association. Cohen is a Justice on the New York State Court in Manhattan. Reuters reported that Cohen ruled that James’ allegations of NRA financial malfeasance deal with private affairs within the organization, not with the group’s members. He noted that James’ “complaint does not allege the type of public harm that is the legal linchpin for imposing the ‘corporate death penalty.'” Cohen left the door open for James could continue to pursue NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre’s removal from the...

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy turned down an offer from the United States to evacuate Kyiv, the capital city, the Associated Press reported late Friday. AP reporter James La Porta said Ukraine’s president decided to stay in Kyiv and fight alongside his fellow countrymen. “The fight is here’ I need ammunition, not a ride,” the president reportedly told American officials. Zelenskyy has been spotted around the city wearing body armor and a helmet. God bless this man has he demonstrates true character and courage in the face of death. So much respect for @ZelenskyyUa. Praying for you, sir, and may God...

Late last night, my phone started screeching an incredibly loud emergency alert signal. It was a “Blue Alert,” an alert I had never heard before. A dangerous criminal was on the loose. When I clicked the link, this was the photo that popped up: A quick Google search revealed a short article by WCTV.TV saying that Miedema had shot a Taylor County deputy multiple times.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- In the South Bay, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office said, "assault weapons, machine guns, and ghost guns" (all illegal weapons), were seized from what they're calling a "sophisticated ghost gun factory." Three people are now in custody, accused of running the operation out of a home in San Jose's Willow Glen neighborhood. Ask residents in the neighborhood, and many feel there's an undeniable sense of safety across this small pocket of San Jose. However, located a little more than a mile outside of Downtown Willow Glen's core is what authorities are calling a...

Charlie Kirk was asked recently, at one of his lectures, whether now is a good time to "use the guns." He answered that it isn't, and I agree with him but only partially for the reasons he stated.Simply put, the idea that right-wingers could start a revolution and win one, at this point in history, is comedy — and no, I don't care if that's the sole reason we have a Second Amendment and we have more AR-15s. First off, we don't own any of the institutions — including any branches of the military, which, although staffed with lots of...

Rutgers University professor Joye C. Anestis says there was an unprecedented surge in firearm purchases in New Jersey and across the nation in 2020. New research from the university's Gun Violence Research Center of New Jersey now gives us some insight into why people buy guns. The proliferation of gun violence in the United States — amplified by this winter’s tragedy in Oxford, Michigan, and the anniversary of Sandy Hook — has led yet again to calls to action for legislation to regulate firearm purchasing. And while legislation, which focuses on who can purchase a firearm, is a vital component...

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced he is suing the State of Missouri claiming its recently enacted law allowing gun-owners the right to sue state or federal officials if their Second Amendment rights are violated “is unconstitutional because it fails to conform with the ‘federal supremacy’ clause, Garland contended. “The right to bear arms is a federally granted right that cannot be altered or expanded upon by any state action.” “Law enforcement works best when state and local officials fully comply with federal authorities,” the AG argued. “Often times nailing someone on a federal gun charge is the easiest first step...

Mayor Eric Adams on Friday urged social media firms to ban “drill” rap videos that glorify and promote violence. The mayor’s plea came a day after he gave an emotional speech about the life and death of 18-year-old drill rapper Jayquan McKenley, aka Chii Wvttz, who was gunned down in Bedford-Stuyvesant last Sunday. Adams said he was not familiar with drill rapping — which tends to have dark, violent themes, often including killing with semiautomatic weapons — until he spoke to his son, Jordan Coleman, who works at Jay-Z’s Roc-Nation. “I had no idea what drill rapping was. My son...

A challenge to the Missouri Second Amendment Protection Act (SAPA) by St Louis and Jackson Counties failed in Circuit court. It is being appealed to the Missouri Supreme Court. The United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a direct democracy. The system was designed and built with a specific set of checks and balances to set government power against government power, to protect the citizens from the centralized abuse of government authority against them. Hillsdale College offers an excellent, free, online course on the subject. In Missouri, Second Amendment advocates have spent years developing a state law to aid in protecting...

Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke appears to have flip-flopped – again – on confiscating AR-15s, as polls show him trailing behind Republican Gov. Greg Abbott. The failed senatorial and presidential contender said earlier this week that he has "no interest in taking" assault weapons from gun owners. "I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone," O’Rourke said to reporters in Tyler, Texas. "What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment. I want to make sure that we protect our fellow Texans far better than we’re doing right now."

In the good old days, the gun-grabbers only went after your "high capacity" magazines or what they said was an "assault weapon" and called it a day. They were "butters" for the Second Amendment — as in "I support the 2nd Amendment, but...," and they went on from there proving they had no use for you or your guns. That was before they came up with the brilliant idea of "defunding the police," because we all know that the best way to control crime is to stop catching criminals or keeping them in jail. It usually helps to "feel" these...

@RepThomasMassie Good News: Indiana State House passed constitutional carry! Bad News: @GovHolcome and @INSenateGOP are dragging their feet and not displaying leadership. Are they pro-second amendment or not? The nation is watching.

They’re back for the McCloskeys. The St. Louis couple came into prominence during the riotous and fiery “Summer of Love” of 2020 when a BLM mob broke a gate down to get into a secure neighborhood to hunt down the mayor. Mark and Patricia McCloskey, both attorneys, saw the mob break down the gate, armed themselves, and came out to their front yard to keep the mob away from their home. The mob stayed peaceful. The couple has been considered public enemy number one ever since that June 28, 2020 incident. The McCloskey’s biggest offense appears to be timing and...
