SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a man is dead after he was shot while trying to rob a North Side convenience store late Thursday night. The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. at a Valero gas station in the 9600 block of San Pedro Avenue, not far from Isom Road and Loop 410. According to police, the man walked into the store and began acting like a customer, reaching for his wallet before pulling out a gun on the store clerk. Annie Patterson Campos, who identifies herself as a "CSI (Crime Scene Investigator) at San Antonio Police Department" on her Facebook page, shared a post from Detective Benjamin Marconi's "son" Dane Gregory Marconi. SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police have opened an internal affairs investigation into the behavior of a veteran officer accused of using a racial slur and beating a lesbian woman who asked him to put out his cigar at a community pool.
