SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a man is dead after he was shot while trying to rob a North Side convenience store late Thursday night.
The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. at a Valero gas station in the 9600 block of San Pedro Avenue, not far from Isom Road and Loop 410.
According to police, the man walked into the store and began acting like a customer, reaching for his wallet before pulling out a gun on the store clerk. That’s when, police say, the clerk saw the gun and pulled out his own, shooting the man.
SAPD said the man fell to the ground and again tried to reach for his gun, but the clerk shot the man a second time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name and age of the man killed have not been released, pending notification to next of kin. The clerk was not injured in the incident.
The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Hmm, not far from where I work - been in that store many times, though not at night.
He shot twice....hum, just like a roach, step on it as many times as you can raise your shoe.
At least the deceased person died doing what he loved - committing armed robbery. Good ending to the story.
Feel good story of the day.
Yep.
“Until the threat is stopped”
A happy ending story !!!
I love stories with happy endings.
Clerk: I just shot someone robbing me.
911: We’ll send police and EMS.
Clerk: Don’t need EMS, he’s dead.
911: Are you sure?
Clerk: Hang on. (Bang!) Okay, now I’m sure.
An oldy, but I still chuckle.
My guess the perp was an aspiring rapper who was just turning his life around.
