The clearest sign that Brock Purdy is a big-time NFL quarterback? We’ve stopped freaking out that Brock Purdy is an NFL quarterback, period. Because he’s not supposed to be one—at least not according to the edified minds who assemble professional North American football teams, who repeatedly passed over Purdy until San Francisco took him, dead last, 262nd overall, the final pick in the 2022 NFL draft. It’s a selection so desultory it comes with a tongue-in-cheek nickname that isn’t really tongue-in-cheek: Mr. Irrelevant. Last year Purdy’s story was: Wow, Mr. Irrelevant is actually starting games as a rookie for the...

The former NFL player who was charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend about 15 months after she vanished allegedly burned her body after killing her, according to court documents released Wednesday. Kevin Ware Jr., a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, was out on bail for an unrelated charge when his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Taylor Pomaski, went missing on April 25, 2021, after a party at her Texas home. Newly released court documents cited by KPRC-TV allege that Ware Jr. killed Pomaski and then burned her corpse afterward, burying the remains. A body wasn’t found until December 2021,...

Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to Parking Lot L at the stadium at about 4:05 p.m., during the NFC Championship Game between the 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. There, firefighters found the victim, whom the Los Angeles Times identified as Daniel Luna, a restaurant owner from Oakland. Firefighters transported Luna, who was wearing a 49ers jersey at the time of the attack, to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and staff in the hospital’s emergency room brought Luna to the attention of police, Meeks said.

It shouldn’t be news that a man who believes the Fourth of July is a celebration of white supremacy has other ignorant takes on American history. But the left has made a hero out of former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, so his effort to compare the NFL draft to slavery in his new Netflix special is noteworthy.

A man was caught in 4K by his boss at the Las Vegas Raiders vs. San Francisco 49ers preseason game last weekend after calling out sick. TikTok user king_killakelv shared the text message exchange with his boss. “Hey boss I need the day off today. Not feeling well,” he said in a message sent to his boss. The boss responded and told him to take the day to rest. He later checked on his employee and asked if he was feeling any better. The man responded: “I’m okay just relaxing.” Relaxing… at Levi’s Stadium… on live television. The boss snapped...

A leader of the Navajo Code Talkers who appeared at a Washington Redskins home football game said Wednesday the team name is a symbol of loyalty and courage — not a slur as asserted by critics who want it changed. Roy Hawthorne, 87, of Lupton, Ariz., was one of four Code Talkers honored for their service in World War II during the Monday night game against the San Francisco 49ers. Hawthorne, vice president of the Navajo Code Talkers Association, said the group's trip was paid for by the Redskins. The four men met briefly with team owner Dan Snyder but...

The San Francisco 49ers are doing all they can to embrace the Black Lives Matter movement and elevate its status to new heights. Specifically, on Monday, they elevated the Black Lives Matter flag to the top of Levi’s Stadium right next to the California and American flags.

Former New York Jets safety Burgess Owens recently slammed the NFL for looking to implement “affirmative action for a Marxist,” by encouraging teams to sign Colin Kaepernick. As a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick prominently started protesting against the country during the playing of the national anthem in 2016 but found himself left unsigned by any NFL team the following year when he turned free agent. Despite not playing since 2017, this year, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has begun saying that the NFL needs to work with Kaepernick to guide the league’s spending on social justice issues. On...

Colin Kaepernick’s Glaring Absence at the Super Bowl The last 49ers quarterback to take the team on a run to the big game has been largely absent in the run-up to Super Bowl LIV; ‘They’re trying to erase him’  By Andrew Beaton Updated Feb. 1, 2020 1:50 pm ET  MIAMI—During the 49ers’ run to this Super Bowl, there has been one glaring absence: Colin Kaepernick. Seven years ago, Kaepernick took the 49ers to the Super Bowl. It was the last time San Francisco made it here. But Kaepernick has been missing from the week-long hoopla ahead of...

In my post yesterday about Colin Kaepernick’s upcoming NFL workout session, I confessed to not knowing the NFL well enough to opine on whether it makes sense for a particular team to sign Kaepernick. However, there’s one team I know very well — the Washington Redskins. There is no good reason for the Redskins to sign Kaepernick. They have won just one game this season and, in an optimistic scenario, they might win three. The rest of the season will be devoted to providing experience for their number one pick in the 2019 draft — quarterback Dwayne Haskins. He will...

No college football fan will forget Baker Mayfield leading Oklahoma to a win at Ohio State, then planting an OU flag on the Buckeyes’ field. Nick Bosa surely hasn’t forgotten. Bosa was a star at Ohio State. He was the second overall pick of the NFL draft this year by the San Francisco 49ers. And he was fantastic against the Browns and Mayfield on Monday night, when the Niners blew out the Browns, 31-3. Late in the second quarter, Bosa pressured Mayfield again, hit him and forced an incompletion. Bosa got up and did a celebration that Ohio State fans...

Former NFL quarterback, now activist Colin Kaepernick might have some skeletons in his closet he doesn’t want the world knowing about. According to the International Business Times, Kaepernick at one point in his career was in a relationship with a transgender woman (also known as a male). Transgender model Mia Isabella said she and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick were once in a romantic relationship. This is what Mia told ibtimes.com: “I loved him very much and he cared for me greatly, but in order to protect his brand I made him walk away from me. Knowing the persecution...

An attorney representing former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick sharply criticized rapper Jay-Z on Tuesday after Jay-Z met with NFL officials to speak about social justice issues while Kaepernick remains unemployed. SNIP Mark Geragos, who is representing Kaepernick in his dealings with the NFL, told ABC News that the partnership amounted to crossing an "intellectual picket line." "This deal between Jay-Z and the NFL crosses the intellectual picket line," Geragos told ABC. "I can confirm to you that the deal was already done prior to any conversation that [Kaepernick] had with Jay-Z and he certainly didn’t have any conversations...

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) said the controversy surrounding the national anthem protests of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was "not a thing" until Russian trolls started fanning the flames on social media.

Former NFL player Devon Cajuste is trading the ultraphysical for the metaphysical. Cajuste, a Seaford, LI, native, who walked away from the game in January, has spent the first few months of his retirement working as a crystal healer. He’s using his arsenal of 100 precious stones and gems — worth more than $20,000 — to tap into the transcendental energy of an entirely different fan base. “Football was not my passion,” says Cajuste, 26, a towering 6-foot-4 former tight end. “The feeling that I got from [crystals] was greater than any play I made in the game.” A little...

Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid took a knee during the national anthem before Sunday’s game against the New York Giants in Charlotte, North Carolina. Reid was the only player to kneel during the “Star Spangled Banner,” continuing the protest he began while playing for the San Francisco 49ers. He was the first Panthers player ever to kneel during the national anthem. Sunday also marked Reid’s return to the NFL after signing with the Panthers on Sept. 27. He and Kaepernick filed a grievance against the league alleging teams colluded against signing him during free agency because of the kneeling controversy....

If you’re planning to watch the Super Bowl but you can’t stand the NFL take-a-knee protests, you may want to root for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not a single Eagles player sat or knelt during the national anthem, one of just seven teams with perfect non-kneeling records, in a season that saw 684 such incidents, according to a study released Thursday by Sports Pundit. The other Super Bowl LII team, the New England Patriots, landed in the middle of the pack with 17 incidents of anthem sitting or kneeling, wedged between the Buffalo Bills with 16 and the Cleveland Browns with...
