The filibuster is under attack again, this time by Senate Democrats who are hoping to win back that chamber as well as the White House in November. Carl Hulse, chief Washington correspondent for The New York Times, reported Wednesday that Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid wants Democrats to “move to curtail the filibuster” if they win both the White House and the Senate “only to run up against persistent use of the tactic by Republicans.” Hulse wrote:

I decided for Rule 5 Sunday we would exercise our own brand of political filtering of the Miss USA Pageant. These are the Top 10 Red State Miss USA Winners. We took the 10 most populous states that voted Republican in last year's presidential election and pulled the pictures of their lovelies (Miss North Carolina was the overall winner). Being a red-blooded American heterosexual, I don't really care what any of their political leanings might be. It is an eye-candy event and they all look good to me.
