(CNN) -- After a six-week operation dubbed "Extra Sugar," police determined that a New Jersey donut shop employee was offering more than coffee and sweets to her customers and arrested her on a prostitution-related charge, police said Tuesday. Melissa Redmond, an overnight worker at a Dunkin' Donuts shop on U.S. Route 46 in Rockaway, was arrested because she was offering sexual services for money, according to Detective Sgt. Kyle Schwarzmann of the Rockaway Borough Police Department. The original anonymous tip came in early June and police started surveillance on Redmond, 29, soon after, according to Schwarzmann.

If you drive Route 3 in East Rutherford, you can't miss the giant orange and blue protrusion that pokes up at the sky like a psychedelic ski slope to nowhere.  "What IS that?" you ask.  The same question arises in Oradell where green and white lawn chairs are rearranged almost daily in some sort of ritual on a big Kinderkamack Road lawn. Its bridges are ornate and decorative. But they're also decaying and crumbling. Traffic moves freely -- most days -- along the 75-mile corridor. But it snarls in the short exit ramps and narrow parking lots.      If it were a car, Route 46 would be a relic. Instead, it's one of the state's busiest, most accident-prone highways, and many believe it needs an overhaul.While the state plans to spend more than $200 million to fix sections in Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties, local officials fear much of the highway will remain a frayed string of aging sprawl that's unsafe and ugly....
