An unidentified man died at the scene after allegedly trying to rob an off-duty officer’s property in Weatherford, Texas, and being shot dead by that officer. NBC DFW reported that the incident occurred around 1 p.m. in a warehouse which belonged to the off-duty officer. CBS News noted that the Texas Department of Public Safety indicated “a business was being burglarized… and the business owner stopped the burglary.” The 0ff-duty officer works in Arlington, Texas, and is now on leave while an investigation into the incident takes place. The officer was not injured in the incident.

A pair of brazen bandits stormed a crowded Brooklyn restaurant and robbed three diners at gunpoint while the horrified dinner crowd looked on, according to cops and a report. The duo rushed into Williamsburg Chinese hotspot Birds of a Feather with a gun and demanded a $200 Seiko watch and phones from three patrons around 9:35 p.m. in plain view of other customers, police said. The robbers then fled westbound on a moped on Grand Street with the bounty, according to the NYPD. Police said investigators later tracked and recovered three iPhones to an address on North 11th Street

CHICAGO — A third juvenile has been charged with robbing a CTA passenger of his shoes earlier this month. Chicago police arrested the 14-year-old yesterday. Two other boys, ages 15 and 16, were previously charged. The trio, joined by two additional accomplices who remain on the loose, tried to rob a 17-year-old boy inside a Blue Line train car near the Racine station around 1:40 p.m. on June 8, police said.

CHICAGO — A group of strangers who quickly befriended a man in Wrigleyville ended up robbing him early Saturday morning. The victim stepped out of his Uber on Clark Street, just south of Wrigley Field, when a group of two men and two women started chatting him up around 1:30 a.m., according to initial information. As the man walked home, his new friends tagged along, seeming quite friendly at first.

Police are hunting for a trio of women accused of robbing at least two taxi drivers at gunpoint in Manhattan and the Bronx. The first incident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Nov. 20, when a 60-year-old cabbie got into an argument with the three women, who were passengers in his taxi, on Lexington Avenue near East 42nd Street, the NYPD said. The suspects pulled a gun on the driver and snatched his cellphone — before jumping out of the car and running off into the Grand Central-42nd Street subway station, according to police.

A crime tale straight out of Charles Dickens is unfolding in the Big Apple — with adults “directing” children who appear no older than 10 to steal from unsuspecting businesses, witnesses told The Post. The chubby-cheeked crooks have terrorized bars on the east and west side of Manhattan and Brooklyn for months, graduating from snatching money in unattended bags to stealing cash from open safes in at least two bars in the last few weeks, according to workers and owners.

CHICAGO — A Minnesota man traveled to Chicago twice last year to rob banks, but he lost the money when someone stole his car with the cash inside, according to a federal criminal complaint. Honolulu police have opened a first-degree robbery investigation after three male suspects allegedly robbed a visitor in Waikiki. Police said the suspects approached the victim, 23, in the 400 block of Ena Road brandishing knives and a handgun and demanded money at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. The suspects fled on foot with money taken from the victim. No injuriies were reported.

NYPD video released Sunday shows a crook roughing up a diabled man in a wheelchair and stealing from him on a Staten Island bus earlier this month, police said. The brazen robbery happened around 9 p.m. on Aug. 13 on the S40 MTA bus, cops said. The thief stood up directly behind the 64-year-old victim, who was sitting in a wheelchair, and removed $250 cash from his shirt pocket as the bus stopped at Clinton Avenue and Richmond Terrace, cops said.

Employees at a North Broad Street store shot and attacked a man who returned to the store he unsuccessfully tried to rob, New Orleans police said.
