Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a top Democratic swing vote for the White House‘s legislative agenda, has ruled out scrapping the Trump-era tax cuts in order to pay for the entitlement and climate-change programs within President Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar partisan spending bill.Ms. Sinema, Arizona Democrat, has told colleagues she will not support the more than 40 new tax increases being proposed.House Democrats have proposed to pay for the $3.5 trillion expansion of the federal safety net by hiking corporate and income taxes. The current rates were set in 2017 by former President Trump’s signature overhaul of the tax code.

On the heels of being exposed in September for their fake news story about supposed Ivermectin overdose patients flooding hospitals, you would figure that Rolling Stone might want to lower their hyperbole profile a bit. However, no such luck. On October 1 that rag published an extreme climate alarmist hit piece by Jeff Goodell on Senator Joe Manchin for the high crime of opposing the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill. Before you even read the article itself, you know it is a hit piece just from the title, "Joe Manchin Just Cooked the Planet."

The grand master of over the top sanctimonious hyperbole, Jon Meacham, has struck again and this time he did not disappoint. Meacham got up on his MSNBC soapbox on Morning Joe on Thursday and proclaimed unto all the peoples of the world that the very fate of Western liberalism depended on just two people: Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. For good measure, Meacham also tossed in the fate of the Constitution as well. According to Meacham all this could fall if Manchin and Sinema fail to rally to save the reconciliation bill.

This isn’t really a surprise at this point, but here we have it from the big man’s mouth.“A vote on the reconciliation bill?” Schumer asked. “No, I don’t think we could even procedurally get that done.”Remember, the only reason this matters is that moderates in the House made Pelosi promise to bring the bipartisan bill to the floor on that date. Progressives warn that they will kill that bill if the Senate hasn’t passed reconciliation by then. So what have moderates won? A public spectacle where their bill probably won’t pass and their party will likely look fractured. Kudos.

It looks like Sleepy Joe and the Border Czar have given up on even making the slightest of efforts to try to pass the massive Reconciliation Bill. You will see NOTHING to do with meeting with legislators on this matter despite the fact that things are coming to a head on Monday when the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is supposed to come to a vote which most Democrats are trying to tie in with passage of the Infrastructure Bill.
