(excerpt) According the notice, Electrolux Group—the parent company of Frigidaire—is recalling about 383,240 of their side-by-side fridges with slim ice buckets. The reason? There is an ice bucket assembly component that can easily break and as a result, cause either a choking or laceration hazard through the pieces being dispensed out of the ice bucket. (excerpt) As the recall notes, the models included were manufactured between 2015 and 2019 and were sold at nationwide retailers such as Lowe's, Home Depot and more. Dates that the items in question were sold fall between November 2015 and September 2019 and between the...

Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed to not recall details surrounding “pertinent COVID-19 information or conversations” more than 100 times during his Monday testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Fauci participated in the closed-door hearing Monday, which reportedly focused on what committee chairman Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) described as “pandemic-era” failures. The first session uncovered what lawmakers described as “drastic and systemic failures in America’s public health systems.” “Dr. Fauci claimed he ‘did not recall’ pertinent COVID-19 information or conversations more than 100 times” during the hearing, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic said in a...

On Sunday, the US Food and Drug Administration warned consumers of possible bacterial contamination of Reckitt/Mead Johnson’s Nutramigen Hypoallergenic Powdered Infant Formula Products. The specialty formula is a hypoallergenic infant formula used by infants allergic to cow’s milk. The manufacturers voluntarily recalled 675,030 cans of the formula on December 29 after the FDA was notified that exported formula tested positive for Cronobacter sakazakii by the Israeli Ministry of Health. The Cronobacter bacteria can cause rare but potentially deadly infections in newborns. It’s present in the environment but is also known to contaminate powdered infant formula. The recalled cans of formula...

Porsche and Audi issued recalls for more than 130,000 battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to address two unrelated fire risks. The larger of the two campaigns is actually directed not at the cars themselves, but at the charging cables that were sold with them. This recall covers all vehicles sold with the company's 40-amp, 220/240V "industrial" charging cable designed to fit a NEMA 14-50 outlet. Parent company Volkswagen says Porsche and Audi were made aware of instances where the cable could overheat due to a poor-quality, outdated or defective home electrical setup, potentially leading to a house fire. VW said...

An FDA spokesperson said that one of the agency’s theories for the WanaBana cinnamon applesauce contamination was “economically motivated adulteration.” The lead contamination in recalled cinnamon applesauce pouches that potentially poisoned at least 65 children may have been intentional, the Food and Drug Administration said on Friday. The FDA has been investigating the lead contamination in the cinnamon-flavored applesauce products from Florida-based food manufacturer WanaBana since October. The agency has homed in on the cinnamon specifically as the source of the lead. A spokesperson for the FDA said that one of the agency’s current theories is that the cinnamon contamination...

Tesla is recalling nearly all 2 million of its cars on US roads to limit the use of its Autopilot feature following a two-year probe by US safety regulators of roughly 1,000 crashes in which the feature was engaged. The limitations on Autopilot serve as a blow to Tesla’s efforts to market its vehicles to buyers willing to pay extra to have their cars do the driving for them. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the Autopilot system can give drivers a false sense of security and be easily misused in certain dangerous situations when a Tesla’s technology may...

  • U.S. auto safety agency probes 2022 Ford Mach-E EV recall

    CNBC ^ | 8/21/23 | Reuters
U.S. auto safety regulators said on Monday that they are investigating whether Ford Motor’s 2022 recall of nearly 49,000 Ford Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles adequately addressed concerns and whether it should be expanded to more vehicles. Ford issued the June 2022 recall because high voltage battery main contactors may overheat from DC fast-charging and repeated wide-open pedal events, which could result in an immediate loss of propulsion power, increasing the risk of a crash. Following the recall for 2021 and 2022 model year vehicles, Ford issued a technical service bulletin to replace the High Voltage Battery Junction Box on recalled...

OAKLAND, Calif. - The top prosecutor for a San Francisco Bay Area county was playing defense as she absorbed criticism from furious residents of its largest city - a tense meeting that felt like a proxy for a mounting recall fight. People packed a church in an affluent Oakland neighborhood in late July to demand progressive Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price answer for disturbingly pervasive carjackings and assaults, often shouting questions over her answers. “I voted for you, but I don’t feel safe here,” said a woman who described being pulled out of her car, at gunpoint, on a...

Activists officially filed a recall against Alameda County, California, District Attorney Pamela Price, who was backed by left-wing billionaire George Soros in a failed 2018 bid, and has allowed crime to soar in Oakland since winning her election in 2022. Soros, who has funded radical prosecutors across the country, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars backing Price in 2018. She won in 2022 and immediately backed “criminal justice reform” of the kind that has upended law enforcement around the country. Known for its “progressive” left-wing policies, Oakland embraced the “Defund the Police” movement when it began during the Black Lives...

BMW is warning the owners of about 90,000 older vehicles in the U.S. not to drive them due to an increasing threat that the air bags might explode in a crash. The warning covers vehicles from the 2000 through 2006 that previously had been recalled to replace faulty and dangerous air bag inflators made by Takata. The company used ammonium nitrate to inflate the air bags in a crash. But the chemical can deteriorate over time when exposed to heat and can blow apart a metal canister, hurling shrapnel that can injure or kill drivers and passengers. Models involved in...

Impossible Foods issued a voluntary recall last week after learning small pieces of wood were discovered in the packaging of two products: Impossible Chicken Nuggets (13.5 oz) and Impossible Wild Nuggets (13.5 oz). There is a potential risk of choking or injury to the mouth or gastrointestinal tract. Customers who have previously purchased the nuggets in question are advised to check the back of the bag and look for a product code, located above the bar code. Customers can then check that product code among the hundreds provided by Impossible Foods.
