U.S. Border Patrol agents shot a woman in Chicago Saturday after an angry mob apparently tried to attack the law enforcement officers. The gunfire erupted after a group of agents were “rammed in by 10 cars” and “boxed in” while patrolling the city’s South Side, Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told the Chicago Sun-Times. The agents fired “defensive shots,” then discovered the woman, who was driving in a vehicle, “was armed with a semi-automatic weapon,” McLaughlin told the outlet.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk by a radical transgender activist has once again spotlighted the growing militancy inside the LGBTQ+ protest movement. What the mainstream media won’t tell you is that this rising wave of aggressive activism isn’t happening in a vacuum. It’s being carefully studied, organized, and in some cases directly subsidized by U.S. taxpayer dollars. At the center of this network sits Erica Chenoweth, a Harvard professor who identifies as nonbinary and uses “they/them” pronouns. Chenoweth has built a career researching how youth and LGBTQ+ activists can be mobilized in protest movements, focusing less on morality or safety...

BREAKING: Chuck Schumer PROMISES he will stop President Trump's deployment of troops to Portland and ICE facilities to quell insurrection. "We will FIGHT IT! [...] This is SO FAR stepping over the line that I hope some [Republicans] will join us in legislation to prevent it - we HAVE such a proposal. I'm part of it." Good luck with that, Chuck. There is NOTHING illegal about the troops defending federal property.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield announced that the state, along with the City of Portland, has filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump and several federal officials. The move comes after Trump invoked Title 10, authorizing 200 Guard members to perform federal duties for 60 days, including protecting federal property amid protests. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, contends that the President lacks authority to federalize the Guard, as there is no invasion, rebellion, or inability to execute federal laws in Oregon. Gov. Kotek expressed her concerns, stating, "There is...

Let’s be clear. There is zero cause or justification for President Donald Trump to send federal troops to Portland and authorize “full force.” Despite Trump’s bluster over the very limited protests outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in South Portland, the city is not “war ravaged,” nor is the ICE building “under siege” by “domestic terrorists.” Portlanders, of course, know this already, because we live, work and raise our families here. We know from our daily routines – school drop-offs, commutes through the city and evening get-togethers – that Trump’s characterizations are divorced from reality. While the modest protests...

Following President Trump's announced intention to surge federal forces into Portland, Oregon, where riots are held daily outside Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters, the useful idiots of Anti Profa are planning a "direct action" for Sunday, September 28th. This is a significant escalation. As is so often the case, the independent journalist and Antifa foe Andy Ngo broke the news.A direct action has been planned for Sept. 28 at the Portland ICE facility after Trump issued a statement that he plans to send in troops to protect the federal property. Antifa and communists have said they refuse to back down...

In war, the enemy gets a vote. They make plans too. Just because you have decided on a course of action and want a particular result does not mean your opponent is required to cooperate. Witness what is happening in Chicago right now. President Trump has declared Antifa a terrorist organization and promised to destroy the nationwide networks that feed it and help it organize. In and of itself, that means nothing. Until this “crackdown” starts to produce concrete results, Antifa remains alive and well and is fighting back. Its immediate target is Chicago, where Antifa forces have encircled the...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed five bills Saturday designed to push back against the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, a package of legislation he described as a defense of the state’s values of diversity and inclusion. “There’s a word you’ve never heard uttered from the President of the United States’ lips, certainly not Stephen Miller,” Newsom said during the signing ceremony in downtown Los Angeles. “That’s pluralism. We practice pluralism. It’s a deep point of pride. Those values are under assault.” Several of the new laws focus on public schools. One requires staff to notify students and parents when Immigration...

Three West Coast states are forming a public health alliance to provide "credible information" on vaccine safety in response to the turmoil within the Trump administration. This announcement heralds a shift from the federal vaccine recommendation system that has been in place for decades to a patchwork structure that varies from state to state. The governors of California, Oregon, and Washington announced Wednesday that they were working to provide unified recommendations to "ensure residents remain protected by science, not politics." The action comes after months of upheaval at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including the termination of the...

Over the Labor Day weekend, more than 50 people were shot, and seven were killed in Chicago. It's as bad as it gets, and for a blue city in a blue state, it's not surprising.Chicago is also one of the cities that has vehemently opposed President Trump's plan to crack down on crime. Mayor Brandon Johnson called jailing criminals racist and immoral and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker claimed Trump's plan is to really 'interfere' with the 2026 elections. A Democratic councilman in Chicago broke ranks with his party and said Johnson should take Trump up on the offer (don't hold...

President Donald Trump’s recent focus on urban crime presents a classic dilemma for Democrats. If they point out that his lurid portrait of a violent epidemic is inaccurate, they risk turning off voters who agree with him on an emotional level. But if they go along with it, they risk legitimizing his power grab. Trump and his Republican allies clearly hope to ride this issue all the way into next year’s midterms, so Democrats need to come up with a counteroffensive soon. Fortunately for them, there is a group of Democrats who know exactly how to run — and win...

Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order Saturday afternoon aimed at holding federal law enforcement in the city to municipal rules on policing while also keeping tabs on new deployments and informing citizens of their rights. The order, the “Protecting Chicago Initiative,” comes after the Chicago Sun-Times first reported that Naval Station Great Lakes near North Chicago was being considered as a possible staging ground for an immigration blitz that could bring more than 200 federal agents to the area from Tuesday to Sept. 30. On Saturday night, two sources familiar with base operations confirmed to the Sun-Times that the...

President Donald Trump has ordered the creation of new federal and military “specialized units,” framed as a move to ensure public safety in Washington, D.C., and beyond. Democrats are tortured by what they should stand for now and heading into the 2028 elections. But a number of current trends suggest a likely answer: their own version of a populist, anti-establishment, MAGA-like makeover. Why it matters: The debate is usually framed as liberal vs. centrist, Rahm versus AOC. But big, fast changes in AI, media habits and general public angst point to a more sweeping shift in ideas and attitude.Four megatrends that are already shaping Democrats' efforts to remake their image and rewrite their agenda:Media: MSM is fading in its mesmerizing hold over liberals. At the same time, the...
