Levin said the media’s campaign to take out Trump is designed to “create the impression that the man is unfit for the presidency.” The media was “giddy all throughout the Obama administration,” he said of the establishment media’s partisan coverage. “So now they use their phony news pages to attack.” Levin also argued that the media undermined Israel by leaking classified information on President Trump’s meeting with the Russians. “This is a concerted effort by the media and the Democrat party, and some despicable people within the government … to take out this man,” Levin added. He continued, discussing the...

Of the calumnies cast upon the millennial generation (people born between 1982 and 2000), the characteristic most frequently applied to them is narcissism. Narcissism is a primitive ego defense wherein an idealized, all-powerful, and adorable self-image is maintained to ward off the experience of emptiness and shame. Of course the millennial generation is narcissistic; how could it be otherwise? What do they know that they were not taught? They may be considered the first fully post-Judeo-Christian, anti-moral generation. As children, they were placed on a raft called MTV and pushed into a sea of crude, meaningless media. Most were tutored...

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah) is taking a leave of absence from Congress to undergo "immediate" foot surgery and is expected to return in mid-May. Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, shared a photo to his Instagram on Wednesday showing an x-ray of a previously repaired broken foot with 14 screws and a metal plate in it, Politico reported. The lawmaker said doctors are now recommending that he have the hardware removed or "be at risk for serious infection." Chaffetz originally sustained the injury falling off a ladder nearly 12 years ago.

"Unlawful" and "extreme" is how West Michigan Rep. Justin Amash described President Donald Trump's executive order to ban refugees and citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries. "It's not lawful to ban immigrants on the basis of nationality," Amash said in the statement. Trump's order blocks citizens from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia and Libya from entering the country for at least 90 days. It also bans refugees from anywhere in the world for 120 days -- and from Syria indefinitely. "Ultimately, the executive order appears to be more about politics than safety," Amash said. "If the concern is radicalism and...

Tomi Lahren, The Blaze TV host who once declared herself “too controversial” for Fox News, is back in the job market today. Page Six is reporting Lahren is “permanently banned” from The Blaze TV, where she hosted “Tomi,” a daily news talk show. The departure does not come as a surprise to most media observers. Lahren, who boasts 4.2 million Facebook fans, was suspended all of last week for comments she made on The View, calling conservatives hypocrites for being for smaller government and pro-life. The Blaze is owned by conservative radio host Glenn Beck, and the company has recently...

Former Florida Gov. and onetime GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush said Sunday that President Donald Trump is making life a little more difficult for himself. In an interview with Jim DeFede for "Facing South Florida" that aired Sunday, Bush said Trump "should stop saying things that aren't true, that are distractions from the task at hand." "He's a distraction in and of himself," he said. "He's got a lot of work to do, and some of these things — the wiretapping and all of this stuff — is a complete distraction that makes it harder to accomplish the things I...

"The president should confound expectations, pivot, and turn to the Democrats for a bipartisan deal. Here is the tradition. If you are Franklin Roosevelt in 1935 and you want to create Social Security—an act that affects Americans very personally—you get the other party in on it. You need them co-owning it, invested in it. You want the American people saying, “Congress did this,” not “the Democrats did this,” because if they say the latter the reform will always divide. FDR got 81 Republicans to vote for it in the House, and 284 Democrats. The same with Medicare in 1965: Lyndon...

Outspoken Trump critic Glenn Beck praised President Trump’s proposed federal budget on his radio show Thursday, declaring himself “pro-Trump” after highlighting the president’s proposed spending cuts. The radio host gleefully read out a list of some of the agencies and programs Trump’s budget would cut, including the Corporation for National and Community Service, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the National Endowment for the Arts, and so on. “And my favorite: The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars,” he said, concluding the list. Beck, who has written and spoken extensively about his dislike of President Woodrow Wilson, joked with his co-hosts...

McDonald's Corp quickly deleted a tweet sent from the company's handle slamming U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday and said its official Twitter account had been compromised. The tweet, which was copied and shared widely before being deleted, came a day after the Twitter accounts of a number of major news organizations, chief executives, government agencies and other high-profile users were hijacked. "Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this," McDonald's spokeswoman Terri Hickey said in a statement....

Ideas and values should matter more than tribal identity... Unfortunately, many conservatives have embraced this sort of binary thinking: If it angers the Left, it must be virtuous. Undoubtedly, that's a crude shorthand for political thinking. It means you never have to check the ideas of the speaker, you merely have to check how people respond to him. That's dangerous. It leads to supporting bad policies and bad men. The enemy of your enemy isn't always your friend. Sometimes he's your enemy. Sometimes he's just a dude sitting there minding his own business... The logic of "if he melts snowflakes,...

Let's get ready to rumble!!! EDIT: I was misinformed on the topic. They will be debating Obamacare, not climate change. Disregard earlier post if you read it.A year late, Ted Cruz is finally gonna get that one-on-one debate. Unfortunately, this isn't for the presidency, which would have been epic. But this one is not too bad. Cruz and Bernie Sanders will be debating Obamacare," and if anything, it many mean a lot of rational but not-fully-informed people will hear sound reasoning for a change. Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will be moderating this debate, and for once Cruz will have...

In he Oval Office on Monday, President Trump signed an executive order formally ending the United States’ participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The move was mostly symbolic, TPP was dead in Congress anyway. But signing this EO on his first full weekday in office signals that Trump is serious about two issues that are, sadly, tied to together: pulling out of trade agreements and replacing them with new barriers to international trade. Trump described withdrawing from the trade pact a “great thing for the American worker.” That’s likely as true as his press secretary’s inauguration attendance numbers. International trade has...

The sports website Deadspin came under fire on Tuesday for tweeting an obscenity at U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz during a back-and-forth on Twitter. Univision spokesperson Rosemary Mercedes did not comment.

Nikki Haley on Wednesday became the latest Donald Trump Cabinet nominee to break with him on how to deal with Russia — to a degree, anyway. The South Carolina governor told senators reviewing her nomination for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations that the United States must push back against Russia's attempts to flex its muscles in places such as Ukraine and Syria, as well as its alleged interference in the U.S. election process. Russia was one of several areas with which the governor put daylight between herself and the president-elect on Wednesday — at one point, she indirectly chided...

Ted Cruz was once one of Donald Trump’s most vocal critics. Now he's one of the president-elect's most important Senate allies. Ted Cruz met with Donald Trump exactly one week after Election Day. As it turned out, Cruz’s tete-a-tete with the president-elect he had spurned from the stage of the Republican National Convention just months before wasn’t the most consequential meeting he would have that day. After his talk with Trump, the Texas senator and his chief of staff, David Polyansky, then sat down with his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, who sounded him out about his interest in filling the...
