Its the parallel to cutting off a penis and using part of a colon to make a vagina, and somehow that turns a man into a woman. It does nothing of the sort, but helps keep maintain the delusion.

I used to ride a lot back in the day. Without a helmet I would have been dead on a number of occasions.

Near as I can tell from the article all they have managed to do is jam some DNA into an egg cell with no prospect of anything else happening, like mitosis.
