In 2008 they barricaded the recruiting office in Berkeley with the blessing of the Berkeley City Council. We at Move America Forward had all we could stomach when we heard them tell the Marines they were unwelcome, unwanted intruders, not in Iraq or Afghanistan but on American soil in Berkeley, California. Americans from across the nation joined us in Berkeley to counter-protest these anti-war hippies. Numerous times they told me they support the troops but not the war, yet over and over when I asked if they had sent care packages, phone cards, written letters, or helped the families left...

Bills pending in Congress that would nationalize health care by setting up mandatory insurance purchases and fines for not complying could penalize married couples $10,000 annually and are a direct attack on marriage, families and the church because of their discriminatory provisions, according to a congressional candidate. "This is as awful, I will say evil ... this is as evil as it gets," Allen Quist, who is running to unseat Democrat Tim Walz in Minnesota's 1st congressional district, told WND.

As Winston Churchill once put it, "Democracy is a terrible system, but it is the best we got!" In spite of its myriad flaws, no other political system has yet been devised that can even equal it. Look at the failure of every other recent "ism" from Mussolini's fascism in Italy, to Hitler's Nazism in Germany, to Russia's communism they have all miserably, desastrously failed! In fact, Russia itself is now fiercely capitalist.

The Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Hussein Obama triumvirate will be doing as much as possible to distract and demoralize the millions of Americans disenfranchised by last week’s Election. They’ve waited so long to come out with their show of control. Tonight there’s a developing story on Drudge that the Democrats are prepared to move forward with an investigation of the Bush Administration. A worldwide recession is deepening, the automobile industry is counting on billions, American Express is looking for a bailout, stocks are in freefall but the Dems have time to go after a lameduck president whose days in...

St. Johnsbury's top cop, the Vermont State Police, and the Central Intelligence Agency are preparing for a possible protest over the guest speaker at St. Johnsbury Academy graduation. U.S. Director of Intelligence John Negroponte, a veteran diplomat and the father of a graduating Academy student, is slated to speak at the Monday morning ceremony. The choice in speakers has already drawn fire, spurring law enforcement to plan for a possible protest. "We've got contingency plans in place," said St. Johnsbury Police Chief Rich Leighton. "They'll be plenty of security between us, the state police and the CIA." Leighton is unsure...

Strayhorn announces candidacy for governor 06/18/2005 By NATALIE GOTT / Associated Press Carole Keeton Strayhorn, the fast-talking state comptroller who makes sport of chastising Republican Gov. Rick Perry, said Saturday she would challenge the governor in next year's GOP primary. "Now is time to replace this do-nothin' drugstore cowboy with one tough grandma," Strayhorn, 65, told hundreds of cheering supporters at a block party near the state Capitol. Strayhorn's announcement came shortly after Perry vetoed education funding from the state budget bill, and called lawmakers back to Austin for a special session on school finance. She took the opportunity to...

Politics: House weakens ethics rules on lobbyists Copyright © 2003 AP Online By LARRY MARGASAK, Associated Press WASHINGTON (January 7, 2003 7:31 p.m. EST) - House Republicans unraveled some of their strict ethics rules Tuesday, passing changes that would allow charities to give lawmakers free travel and lodging at resorts and make it easier for lobbyists to send complimentary food to congressional offices. The move by the Republican leadership was so well hidden that it even caught leaders of the House ethics committee by surprise. A Republican leadership aide called the changes cosmetic, but Democrats characterized them as a serious...
