Using the ridiculous allegation that GOP poll watchers are really there to discourage minorities from voting, the Democratic National Committee filed a request Wednesday, asking a judge to block the GOP from supporting Trump’s recruitment of poll watchers. The DNC claimed in their filing that the recruitment of poll watchers is a coordinated effort to intimidate voters, and say it is violating a court order case from 35 years ago, when the party was forbidden from engaging in voter security measures back in 1982.The Republican National Committee said the filing is baseless.“The filing is completely meritless,” said Lindsay Walters, RNC...

Poll Watching: Calls, Training, and Watching. On a rainy day, a couple of weeks ago, I went to Sharron Angle’s office in Reno, Nevada to help with the mail, but ended up spending the better portion of the day making phone calls to volunteers to invite them to a poll watching training that was setup for the following week at the Washoe County Republican Headquarters. Five television networks - ABC, CNN, CBS, Fox News and NBC - and The Associated Press had sued on Monday, seeking a temporary order to block Blackwell's directive that limited the exit-poll surveys, even though there had been no prior problems. "Polling activities such as these...

He said that poll watchers would "roll their eyes" and make a "negative face" at times and that, in his opinion, this constituted "intimidation" of voters. See SDP for a look at the complaint. UPDATE: Another report on Daschle's first witness, the Howard Dean worker. He's a lawyer from Virginia who works for Lexis-Nexis and has been in South Dakot for 48 hours. Think the red and blue states are going to grapple and grunt and groan and give us another nail-biter on Election Night? Nah. Not gonna happen.
