A 28-year-old man from Berkeley was arrested Friday after he allegedly threw a live grenade from a moving car while attempting to flee from California Highway Patrol officers. CHP officers attempted to stop the suspect, Carlos Kuceja, near 38th Street and Cerrito Avenue in Oakland around 3:30 p.m. Friday, after he was allegedly seen driving a stolen car. “When the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Kuceja fled, and a pursuit ensued,” CHP said. “The pursuit proceeded at slow speeds through Oakland and entered the city of Berkeley.” 22 pounds of meth, cocaine seized, two arrested in San Jose drug...

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) blamed an “illegal gun” in the fatal shooting of NYPD officer Jason Rivera on Friday night. Rivera, 22, was shot and killed and a second officer, Wilbert More, 27, was shot and wounded, Breitbart News reported. The shooting suspect, Lashawn McNeil, 47, opened fire on Rivera and More as they approached him in a long hallway, CBS New York noted. McNeill was then shot twice by a third officer. On Saturday, Hochul tweeted, “Last night, a shot from an illegal gun took the life of a NYPD officer.”

The embattled school board of Virginia’s Loudoun County cut off public comments during a fiery meeting Tuesday as residents traded barbs over new transgender policy proposals. The meeting followed weeks of protests from district parents who oppose some of the measures, which they have criticized as potential left-wing indoctrination and a violation of parental rights. The policies affect transgender student rights, privacy and restroom accommodations and would require Loudoun County Public Schools employees to use students’ preferred names or pronouns. [snip] The board meeting comes days after the district confined a Christian student to a small room during schoolwide periods...

An officer-involved shooting took place inside a Hollywood fast food restaurant after multiple stabbings were reported in the area, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Tuesday. The shooting was reported around 2 p.m. at the corner of Ivar Avenue and Sunset Boulevard but the number of people injured was unclear, said LAPD Officer Aareon Jefferson. CNN reporter Maeve Reston witnessed some of the chaos and said on Twitter that she saw a male suspect — who officers later shot — trying to stab people. “Unclear how many stabbing victims there are, but suspect ran down Sunset Blvd. trying to stab...
  • Threats to CT Police Escalate Following CT Cop’s Gun Confiscation Comments–Cops Ask Pro-Gun

There have been reports that Navy veteran John Cinque has been receiving threats because of his stance on the issue of Connecticut's gun registration law. Apparently those reports are due to a misreading of a piece by the New Haven Register in which Cinque said, "There have been threats made — that I found out about today." Freedom Outpost reached out to John Cinque, who spoke with us this morning and confirmed that the threats he was speaking about were towards the Branford Police, not towards him. "The cops are having the threats…. they are scared," he told us. According...

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2010 – Afghan civilians helped police to repel an attack by an estimated 50 Taliban fighters against a police checkpoint in Afghanistan’s Daykundi province June 14, military officials reported. Ten national police officers manning a checkpoint in Kajran came under heavy small-arms and rocket fire just after noon and called for support. About 250 civilians gathered with personal assault rifles and, along with police reinforcements and International Security Assistance Force aircraft, forced the Taliban fighters to retreat. U.S. Special Forces soldiers responded and provided medical aid to injured Afghan policemen at the request of the Kajran district...
