There have been reports that Navy veteran John Cinque has been receiving threats because of his stance on the issue of Connecticut's gun registration law. Apparently those reports are due to a misreading of a piece by the New Haven Register in which Cinque said, "There have been threats made that I found out about today." Freedom Outpost reached out to John Cinque, who spoke with us this morning and confirmed that the threats he was speaking about were towards the Branford Police, not towards him.
"The cops are having the threats . they are scared," he told us.
According to Cinque, Officer Joseph Peterson, who made comments in interaction on Facebook while off duty that he would "give my left nut to bang down your door and come for your gun " has been placed on 24-hour guard due to threats on his life. This information came directly from Police Chief Kevin Halloran.
Mr. Cinque told us that he had a two and a half hour "sit down" with the Branford Police Department on Tuesday. He said that the Branford PD was supposed to come out with an apology for Peterson's comments and wanted Cinque's endorsement of the apology in an attempt to cool things down.

Better idea: tar and feather the policians who voted for this. Make THEM afraid to leave THEIR house.
An oath to The Constitution only has meaning if it is enforced.
That needs to be addressed.
if you bought a dog to protect your children and it bit them, what would you do?
Every guard hired to protect that thug is another officer not on the streets collecting guns (or catching criminals, either). It’s sort of ironic that the police owe no duty to protect individual citizens, but they will personally serve as bodyguards to other cops - and that the police force would rather hire bodyguards to protect their own rather than let that cop go so as to conserve police resources for general policing.
And there we have it. The reason the founding fathers saw fit to include the 2nd Amendment in the first place, viz. to enable the citizenry to strike fear in the heart of a totalitarian government that tries to impose immoral laws.
The guy who made the left nut comment is an idiot. What did he think was going to happen when he threatens people like that? Free people push back against threats.
“The cops are having the threats . they are scared,” he told us.
Then leave well enough alone. Pursue real criminals and avoid threatening gun owners and there won’t be trouble. It’s not a difficult concept, here.
I think the police fearing the citizenry is a good thing.
Shoot it then give all the kids guns, after training of course.
Give him instructions for a drop point. Have him include video confirmation that the nut actually was his.
Good start. btw, the author of the article could profitably attend, as well. There he might learn about "attainders" rather than "retainers".
Weird shit on the radio, I am hearing about local job hiring fairs that are centering on hiring LOTS of security people.
large bonuses, big paychecks, healthcare yada yada yada.
Hmmmmm....
It wouldn’t happen, I know how to train dogs.
The law will get repealed one way or another and the CT politicians currently have an opportunity to avert anyone from dying in the process.
I doubt they are suffering threats...just framing the gun owners as dangerous...
Yeh, life can be crappy when you’re a jerk. :-)
Gee, that’s too bad.
I think Jefferson summed it up when he said, “When the people fear the government you have tyranny, when the government fears the people you have liberty.”
‘bout says it all.
This is all a Liberal plan, and if we fall for it, we are the idiots. The cops don’t want trouble with us (barring a couple of idiots that even fellow cops hate), and we don’t want trouble with the cops. The Liberals, by contrast, want us all to shoot it out. They hate the cops and they hate us. If we fight it out, Liberals laugh.
Our problem is the Liberals in this nation, and we need to keep our focus on that enemy.
