The University of California must reconsider its policy barring students living in the country illegally from on-campus jobs because the practice is discriminatory, a state appeals court ruled this week. The court also said UC’s policy violates California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act because refusing to hire students who lack work authorization is discrimination based on immigration status.
