President Donald J. Trump’s press secretary was thrown out of a Virginia restaurant because she works for the Trump administration. “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for [President Trump] and I politely left,” she tweeted. “Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.” The Red Hen has been owned by Stephanie Wilkinson since 2008, according to a public records database. Wilkinson and her co-founder John...

On January 10, 49 B.C., Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon River in Northern Italy, with his legions to march on Rome. While crossing the narrow river, Caesar is said to have remarked, ‘Iacta alea esto’, ‘The die is cast’, in reference to his defiance of Roman law, which forbade any general from crossing the Rubicon and entering Italy with an army. To do so was tantamount to high treason. Caesar’s action made his intentions crystal clear to those in Rome. He intended to join the struggle for power, as civil war loomed. Since that day, the term, ‘Crossing the Rubicon’...

"I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey's letter, on October 28th, and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but got scared off. And the evidence for that intervening event is, I think, compelling, persuasive, and so we overcame a lot in the campaign, we overcame an enormous barrage of negativity, of false equivalency and so much else, but as Nate Silver, who doesn't work for me, he's an independent analyst, but one considered to be very reliable, has concluded: If the election had been...

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has made an entire career out of saying shocking, deliberately offensive things in response to public controversies. So she did today when she weighed in on the career meltdown of Breitbart Editor and fellow conservative Milo Yiannopoulos in terms calculated for maximum outrage. Coulter’s tweet comes after video emerged over the weekend in which Yiannopoulos defended pedophiliac behavior at length, referred to people as young as 13 as “sexually mature,” and joked that his own experience as a victim of molestation made him good at oral sex.

Comet Ping Pong–the Chevy Chase pizzeria tormented by a gunman who was “self-investigating” an internet hoax last Sunday–will host a neighborhood support event this weekend. Billed “Stand With Comet” on Facebook, the event was originally just planned for Friday. But with thousands saying they’re interested in attending, the organizers of the event decided to extend the event, pushing it through the end of Sunday. “We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support and solidarity you have all shown,” the announcement, posted on Facebook, says. “It is a stirring reminder of how many good people there are out there,...

I started working at dominos where I was verbally abused daily by high schoolers also my manager who cut my hours for forgetting cheesebread once in a while. While his cooks and he would sell and smoke pot on the job, while I have no issue with this behavior, it's not appropriate in the work place. Subsequently 3-10 pizzas a night would be wrong, outweighing my mistakes by a longshot. So after I couldn't survive on the hours I was getting I complained to management, who transferred me to a worse store where the manager was fat rude and stupid....
