Sarah Palin's unfavorable rating has spiked to a new high, adding further fuel to the argument that her presidential campaign may be doomed before it begins. A new Bloomberg poll shows the former Alaska governor is now viewed unfavorably by 60 percent of American adults. That's higher than any other poll has shown, but it's not even the entire picture. Of that 60 percent, nearly two-thirds - 38 percent of all adults - say they view the former GOP vice presidential nominee "very unfavorably." No other politicians tested even comes close, including President Obama (22 percent). What's more, Palin's unfavorable...

Sarah Palin said on FOXNews last night that she will probably wait to announce her 2012 plans until after other candidates announce. “Thinking along those lines is unconventional for me, because I’ve never waited for anybody else to line up and then I jump in at the end. In fact, in my races over the last twenty years, I’ve usually been the first one to jump in. But in this case — because it is so monumental and so affecting on a family — I probably would wait to see who is willing to put their name forward in the...

A Bloomberg News poll released Thursday shows trouble for the potential presidential candidacy of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. A vast majority of respondents viewed Palin unfavorably. Sixty percent had an unfavorable view of Palin, compared with only 28 percent with a favorable one. President Obama had a personal favorability rating of 55 percent with 41 percent viewing him unfavorably. Two other potential Republican candidates for the presidency, businessman Donald Trump and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, had low favorability ratings. Trump was viewed favorably by 37 percent of respondents and unfavorably by 43 percent. Gingrich was viewed...

Sarah Palin is making her priorities clear – celebrity feuds trump visiting early states and building an organization. Much was made of Palin’s hire of Mike Glassner as her chief of staff, but since then her operation has not begun to look any more like a campaign in waiting. Continue Reading She has yet to hire additional staff to make a political play. And the contrasting 2012 storylines today serve as good a reminder as any recently of just how far Palin is from running for president. In Iowa, five presidential candidates of various stature are participating in one of...

Well played by Palin. Griffin, like so many others on the left, relentlessly bully conservatives like Sarah Palin and even target her helpless children while simultaneously decrying other bullies. The hypocrisy is so painstakingly obvious it could only be overlooked by people incapable of thinking clearly. But Griffin, like so many others on the left, falls squarely into the “incapable of thinking clearly” category.

SEASIDE, Ore. — Oregon Republicans attending the annual Dorchester Conference in Seaside, Ore., say they would vote for Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels as a presidential candidate, while former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin came in third. Thirty percent say they would vote for Daniels. He was praised Sunday for being fiscally conservative, having "core moral values" and running a state government with a budget surplus. The Daily Astorian reports that another 23 percent say they would vote for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and 18 percent would vote for Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee...

It's looking increasingly likely that tea party maven and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., will dive into the 2012 presidential waters. Among the evidence is a packed schedule for this weekend, including two suspiciously stump-like stops in Florida on Friday and a Sunday appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, where she’ll be asked about how “the campaign against President Obama’s reelection should be framed,” according to network previews. Most notable is Bachmann's involvement in the conservative Club for Growth’s annual winter meeting on Friday, where her name shared a guest list with those of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and former Govs....

NEW YORK — It's official: Bristol Palin has a book deal. The daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has signed with William Morrow to publish "Not Afraid of Life," to come out this summer. Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, announced Tuesday that the memoir would provide "an inside look at her life."

Yesterday Ann Coulter might have unintentionally, or possibly intentionally, let it be known that Sarah Palin will not run for president in 2012. Everyone has made their own best guess on whether or not Palin will run, but Coulter may have access to more "insider knowledge" given her position as an established conservative commentator. In an interview with Sean Hannity last night Coulter said that she "loved" Palin, but also took a slight verbal jab at the former half-term governor of Alaska. After praising Palin, Coulter goes on to say that she does not think that Palin will run for...

Washington (CNN) -- Politics is serious business, but not all the time. Sar-ah! Sar-ah! Sar-ah! Jerry Springer is known for a lot of things -- from being the former mayor of Cincinnati to ringmaster of an outlandish talk show where smackdowns are more common than humidity on South Beach. Now Springer can add another title: FOS (friend of Sarah). Well, sort of. "I don't want her to be president," Springer told radio station WABC. "I don't agree with her views. But I would never say anything mean about her. I think she is incredibly charismatic. I think she takes her...

ROCK HILL, S.C. — As Sarah Palin wonders whether to run for president, she might want to talk to people in places such as South Carolina. She'd find her star fading, and her prospects daunting. Republicans still like her, but now they openly question whether she could or should be nominated for president, let alone elected. At a recent gathering in South Carolina, the site of a crucial early presidential primary next year, party activists said the former Alaska governor didn't have the experience, the knowledge of issues or the ability to get beyond folksy slang and bumper-sticker generalities that...

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), the Tea Party Princess, played a noxious game of dodge ball with George Stephanopoulos this morning when he asked her whether she believed that President Obama was born in the United States and is not a Muslim. Leave it to the Tea Party Queen -- Sarah Palin -- to show Bachmann and others in the Republican Party the right way to answer the question. "Do you question his faith and citizenship?" Palin was asked today during an onstage interview hosted by the Long Island Association. Her answer was brief and to the point. "I don't, and...

I think American voters would do better to think about the influence political leaders exert by their words and actions, instead of treating their speeches (not to mention their sound bites and 60-second spots) as evidence of anything but what they think we want to hear. This came to mind last week as I read the report about Sarah Palin's non-appearance at this year's biggest conservative non-event (or should that be biggest non-conservative, pretending-to-be-conservative event?). She released a statement intended to keep her distance from the individuals and organizations whose non-appearance was meant to convey disapproval of CPAC's trendy surrender...

What's the best way to assure America of the right kind of leadership for the next several years? It's by getting behind the two leading presumed conservative candidates for president: Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty, the two former governors. Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are calculating politicians who cannot ignite and unify the Republican base. Newt Gingrich has too much baggage. What isn't needed now is a 1990's leader. That's why Pawlenty and Palin are so appealing as the leaders who can turn this underperforming nation around. They represent the best bets to courageously battle against socialism in Washington. Romney...

Sarah Palin told reporters that she would have no problem with the porn lobby being cosponsors and holding respected seats at the table at last week's CPAC meeting. Nor does she have a problem with Planned Parenthood. After all, these are "different, diverse groups involved in political discourse" – so why not allow them all to crowd in under the "conservative" umbrella? Actually, she didn't say these things, but instead told Fox News "gay" groups had a right to be at CPAC. But, why not these others as well? Don't they fit her broad qualifications, as stated above? Why not...

As the 2012 presidential race approaches, the Republicans are exploring all possibilities to deny Barack Obama a second term. As the potential Republican candidates met in Washington for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the real estate mogul Donald Trump made a surprise appearance to reiterate the possibility of him running for president in 2012. Among the likes of Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, the real estate mogul will have to first beat out the ever popular Sarah Palin to even be considered. Although Trump flirted with the idea way back in 1999 when Bill Clinton was the...

I applaud Sarah Palin’s passion, her adroit sense of humor, and her you-go-girl! gumption. But the more I learn about Sarah Palin, the more I become perplexed by her over-heated gender-bending rhetoric. I believe we can all agree that men and women should have equal opportunities. But let’s not confuse equal opportunities with identical outcomes. Just because a woman has the same right to an education and a decent job doesn’t mean she will pursue the identical career path, toil as long, or work as many years as a man. Men and women have differing proclivities and interests — most...

Sarah Palin has hired a veteran operative to serve as a chief of staff to her loosely organized team, one of the biggest indicators yet that the former Alaska governor is leaning toward a run for the White House. POLITICO confirmed late Friday night that Palin has hired Michael Glassner to serve the key role.

On whether the United States should have been giving foreign aid to President Mubarak: “Over 30 years of standing by Mubarak’s side and he essentially standing with America on a lot of our interests it makes sense that we have a reciprocal relationship but no it is not moral or ethical. We are watching Mubarak and realizing the billions of dollars that have been spent, he’s become rich, a lot of the dictatorship has personally benefited. So where do those funds end up? We need to pull back on those countries where the money isn't doing any good."
