WASHINGTON (TND) — The U.S. airline industry is facing workforce challenges, mainly, a "severe and ongoing" shortage of pilots. The issue will eventually become even more complicated because there will soon be a “tsunami of pilot retirements," according to Faye Malarkey Black, who is the president and CEO of the Regional Airline Association. She addressed Congress in a prepared statement on Wednesday, noting that at least 50% of pilots will hit the mandatory retirement age of 65 within the next 15 years
