If Durham is allowed to proceed with indictments of serious power players, then the conclusion that we are becoming a banana republic without the bananas can be suspended for a while. The shockingly lenient treatment of FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who lied to a federal judge in order to keep spying on Carter Page, has led many of us to despair that justice will never be done in the greatest political scandal in American history, the use of the FBI and intelligence community resources to spy on the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, and to bring him down once elected....

One can NOT make false Russia collusion accusations (it is now apparent they were false) and THEN jump to an impeachment inquiry over alleged statements (also a false accusation). There is NO way this can continue. The Democrats are making a mockery of our judicial system and are going to cause the entire system to devolve into a circus. Stop, think about it! If they are allowed to do what they are doing and are not stopped, accusations will be invented against anyone someone doesn't like about anything and the circus will begin all over again. Suddenly whoever has the...

There's no shortage of speculation on the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, much of it totally uninformed. But we don't need to speculate on the scope – the man who appointed Mueller has already given us a potential road map on what to expect from the special counsel. The bottom line: Do not expect a harsh condemnation of President Donald Trump or any of his associates if they have not been charged with crimes. The road map comes in the form a little-noticed 12-page letter written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last June to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley....

New York Attorney Gen.-elect Letitia James says she plans to launch sweeping investigations into President Donald Trump, his family and "anyone" in his circle who may have violated the law once she settles into her new job next month. "We will use every area of the law to investigate President Trump and his business transactions and that of his family as well," --SNIP-- "We want to investigate anyone in his orbit who has, in fact, violated the law," said James, who was endorsed by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team have been aggressively pursuing former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, even tacking on new charges of obstruction of justice due to alleged attempted witness tampering. Although Mueller has been tight-lipped about evidence and witness identification up to this point, his team appears to have screwed up by outing journalists who “produced messages to the FBI” about Manafort’s alleged “coaching up” on lobbying practices. Manafort was indicted in D.C. back in October 2017 for alleged financial fraud and violating lobbying disclosure laws. There’s also a case against him in the Eastern District of Virginia...

The special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election has cost nearly $17 million dollars so far, according to a new report from the Justice Department. Robert Mueller's team of prosecutors and FBI special agents has spent by far the most money on covering salaries, followed by rent and information technology services, the statement of expenditures says. The office has been operating for just over a year — since May 17, 2017, when Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller, the former FBI director. His task is to get to the bottom of Russian manipulation surrounding the...

During a Fox News segment on various calls for special counsel Robert Mueller to end his probe into Russian meddling during the 2016 U.S. election, Fox News judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano defended the length of the investigation, which hits the 1-year mark this week. “Bob Mueller has no duty to tip his hand and show his cards until the end of his investigation, and he does have a duty to complete the investigation,” Napolitano, a former judge, told host Heather Childers on “America’s Newsroom.”

When Barack Obama spoke at the 12th annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, MA, many of us scratched our heads as to why the event was off-the-record. No photography, recording, or social media posting about Obama’s appearance was allowed. Obviously, he would not be talking about golf. But, with over 3,500 people in attendance, there was no way this speech would be hidden for long. As expected, a recording of Obama’s appearance was leaked. Obama said a lot of things over the course of an hour, but I’d like to focus on his claim that, while some people in...

On both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, former British MI-6 Intelligence Officer Christopher Steele is going to extremes to avoiding answering questions from the United States Congress, while at the same time avoiding being videotaped and deposed in a multi-million dollar libel case brought against Buzzfeed. The media outlet published the unverified Trump dossier just over a year ago, setting off an international firestorm. Steele was a no-show Monday for a long-requested deposition in London, Fox News has learned. The news comes as Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., have announced a criminal referral...

ABC News Raked For ‘Clarification’ Then ‘Correction’ Of Brian Ross Flynn Reporting [Privacy Badger has replaced this AddThis button.] By Chris Ariens on Dec. 2, 2017 - 9:24 AMComment On ABC Friday, following news that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn had pleaded guilty in the Russia probe, correpsondent Brian Ross reported during an on air special report that Flynn, “is prepared to testify that Pres. A federal judge has granted two attorneys general permission to subpoena 23 Trump businesses to require them to preserve documents potentially related to an emoluments case. The two-page order by U.S. District Judge Peter Messittee grants the request by Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh and District of Columbia Attorney Karl Racine for permission to serve the subpoenas related to their lawsuit. Their lawsuit, filed in June, alleges that President Trump’s wide-ranging businesses with foreign and domestic governments violate the Foreign and Domestic Emoluments Clauses. Trump has motioned to dismiss the lawsuit, and oral arguments are scheduled for Jan. 25, 2018.

Do you think 2017 has been a pretty challenging year for the world? You’re not alone. Dictionary.com named its “word of the year” today. It’s choice? Complicit. The site announced its word of the year with a Trump joke, first suggesting it had selected covfefe for this year’s honor, although this year’s word choice is certainly Trump focused. The site defines complicit as an adjective that means “choosing to be involved in an illegal or questionable act, especially with others; having complicity.” Interest in the word spiked on April 5 of this year when Ivanka Trump told CBS This Morning...

he FBI's investigation of Donald Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, includes a keen focus on a series of suspicious wire transfers in which offshore companies linked to Manafort moved more than $3 million all over the globe between 2012 and 2013. Much of the money came into the United States. These transactions — which have not been previously reported — drew the attention of federal law enforcement officials as far back as 2012, when they began to examine wire transfers to determine if Manafort hid money from tax authorities or helped the Ukrainian regime close to Russian President Vladimir...

Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said. It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment. Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special...

Congressman Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) criticized the special counsel investigation of President Trump. GWU Professor Jonathan Turley said the probe, headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller, now includes a litigator who has been reprimanded for obstruction in past cases. He and another new member of Mueller's team reportedly also donated thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates. "This seems more like an effort to prosecute Donald Trump," Duffy said. "What the hell are we investigating?" he asked, saying that ex-FBI chief James Comey testified that there is no evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia. "Why are we going through with...

... Gingrich, who also appeared on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” pointed to the early hires special counsel Robert Mueller has made. “Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair,” he tweeted. “Look who he is hiring.check fec [sic] reports. Time to rethink.” He's not wrong about the donations. Four top lawyers hired by Mueller have contributed tens of thousands of dollars over the years to the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates, including former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump's 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton. One of the hires, Jeannie Rhee, also worked as a...

(Update: Again on Thursday, Rep. Pelosi told a news conference that Democrats will "continue to ask" for Trump's tax returns, because "we want to know, what do the Russians have on Donald Trump -- politically, financially, and personally?" She called for an independent investigation to get to the "bottom of that.") (CNSNews.com) – Democrats are demanding to see Donald Trump’s tax returns because they want the “facts” and the “truth,” including “any personal embarrassment to the president,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told a news conference on Wednesday: The tax returns, many believe, are part of the Russian connection,...
