Liz Cheney, the third ranking House Republican, on Tuesday called on the Republican party to "make clear we aren't the party of white supremacy." Cheney's remarks came during an event hosted by the Reagan Institute. "It's very important for us to ignore the temptation to look away," Cheney said. "And it's very important, especially for us as Republicans, to make clear that we aren't the party of white supremacy. "You certainly saw anti-Semitism. You saw the symbols of Holocaust denial... you saw a Confederate flag being carried through the rotunda," she said, referencing the January 6 assault on the U.S....

Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) on Thursday wrote a letter apologizing to Black constituents for opposing the Electoral College results, saying he didn't realize the attempt would cast doubt "on the validity of votes coming out of predominantly Black communities." In a letter addressed to "My friends in North Tulsa" obtained by Tulsa World, Lankford acknowledges that his actions "caused a firestorm of suspicion among many of my friends, particularly in Black communities around the state. I was completely blindsided, but I also found a blind spot." Lankford last month signed onto a letter from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) saying he...

Having forced myself to listen to most of the Republican National Convention (RNC) orations in late August, I was struck by what my daughter, who had done such work professionally, characterized as the program’s “underlying marketing strategy.” The GOP’s advisers seem to have pitched their message at the demographics among whom Trump has had the least support in the polls, namely suburban, college-educated women, and blacks. Trump, according to the polls, was losing the former group until recently by about 20 percentage points, and may be winning the votes of no more than 8 percent of blacks. The overall size...

President Trump on Friday unveiled his "Platinum Plan" at an event in Atlanta, which is aimed at investing $500 billion in Black communities. Trump did not disclose how the plan would be funded but that it would boost lending to Black-owned businesses, reduce taxes, and also include education, healthcare, and criminal justice reforms. He also said the plan would make Juneteenth, a holiday celebrated by Black Americans that marks the end of slavery in the U.S., a national holiday. He said that the plan would focus on the prosecution of the Ku Klux Klan and antifa as well as designating...

Say what you will about Tim Pool (Timcast IRL), but the man is trying to understand the world as it is and he is as pissed off as the rest of us. I've been more than pissed regarding the cancel culture and pandering to the left that our commercial sector has been engaging in, and apparently Tim feels the same way that I do. Please give it a view, it's less than 7 minutes long.

Republican senators Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) and James Lankford (R., Okla.) introduced an amendment Wednesday that would replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth as a federal holiday. The proposal, which follows last week’s introduction of a bipartisan Senate bill by Senator John Cornyn (R., Texas) that would establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday, is aimed in large part at offsetting the cost associated with Cornyn’s plan. Each new federal holiday costs an estimated $600 million in paid time off for government employees, according to a Fox News report. “Throughout our history, we have strived to become a more perfect union and...

The U.S. House on Friday approved legislation to make D.C. the 51st state in the United States. The House vote was the first on D.C. statehood in more than a quarter-century. The vote was 232-180. While it marks the first time the House has passed a D.C. statehood bill, the Republican-controlled Senate has no plans to take it up. The bill would establish a federal district of two square miles, comprising the Capitol and White House, the National Mall and other major federal buildings. The rest of the District would become a state called Washington, Douglass Commonwealth, named for the...

House Democrats are poised to approve Washington, D.C., becoming the nation's 51st state in a historic vote scheduled for Friday. Washington the 'District of Columbia' would be no longer, the bill's language says, as the new state would be referred to as 'Washington, Douglass Commonwealth' - swapping out Italian explorer Christopher Columbus for Maryland-born abolitionist Frederick Douglass. 'And what an appropriate name: George Washington and Frederick Douglass, joined together in support of citizenship, what an appropriate name it seems to me for the capital of America,' remarked Rep. Steny Hoyer, the House's No. 2 Democrat who represents nearby Maryland. 'To...

PHOENIX – The federal government could give Americans $4,000 apiece to take a vacation if U.S. Sen. Martha McSally’s proposal takes off. McSally (R-Ariz.) introduced the bill, the American TRIP Act, on Monday, the day before President Donald Trump visits Yuma and Phoenix. The legislation is meant to act as an incentive to travel domestically. Couples would start at $8,000 in vacation tax credits and receive $500 for each child who is a dependent. Credits would apply for 2020, 2021 and 2022. “It will also encourage Americans to safely get out of their homes and discover or rediscover Arizona along...

The pancake syrup brand Mrs. Butterworth’s — known for its matronly woman-shaped bottle — will undergo a “complete brand and packaging review,” a spokesperson for Conagra Brands said Wednesday. (CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) opened a letter to her Democratic colleagues yesterday by quoting Isaiah 2:12 and Isaiah 10:1-2 in an apparent reference to corrupt police officers and Trump administration. “As Isaiah says, ‘For the Lord will have a day of reckoning… Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed,’” Pelosi said. “A reckoning is here for justice in policing, and I commend Chair Karen Bass and the Congressional Black Caucus on their important leadership in presenting the George...

Guess what happens when you overreact to the mob and make a decision based completely on proving how much you CARE … you pick a new name for your band that appropriates the name of a black, blues singer who you didn’t bother to reach out to beforehand. Awkward and oopsie. Lady Antebellum is now “Lady A” — but so is a black blues singer who’s performed music under the name for 20 years. “For them to not even reach out is pure privilege,” says the woman with the original moniker — Rolling Stone

Joseph R. Biden passed Wednesday during a virtual town hall event with the NAACP on the chance to endorse reparations for black Americans, saying that such a package must also include Native Americans. Pressed on the issue, Mr. Biden, the presumed Democratic presidential nominee, said he supports the concept, but said he wants to allow studies on the issue to play out before he goes all-in on direct payments to African Americans.

As many in Black Lives Matter call for Caucasians and law enforcement officers to kneel before them, one can't avoid the obvious comparison to a similar situation in the past. All across social media and in mainstream media reports, images and videos of people kneeling “in solidarity” with Black Lives Matter protests seem to all be missing one important component. To kneel in solidarity would mean that everyone is kneeling together, but that’s not the case. If you look at the images, you’ll notice the kneeling is only happening on one side. While Caucasians and law enforcement officers kneel to...
