In the year before Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock carried out the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history, the high-stakes gambler appeared to have become increasingly unstable, distant and constantly complained of being sick, according to a final investigative report released Friday. Financial records also showed Paddock had lost more than $1.5 million in the two years before the Oct. 1 shooting that left 58 people dead and more than 800 others injured. One of Paddock's brothers told investigators that he believed the gunman had a "mental illness and was paranoid and delusional," and his doctor believed he may...

Investigators scanning computers belonging to Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock found “numerous” child pornography photos, the city’s sheriff revealed Friday, adding that the FBI is looking into a person of interest in the case. It was Joe Lombardo’s first press conference since Oct. 13, 2017. Police also released a 81-page preliminary investigative report on the shooting Friday, containing new photographs of Paddock's hotel suite and online searches he conducted before the attack, such as for SWAT tactics and other potential public venue targets. Craig Fiegener ✔ @CraigNews3LV “I’ve lost a lot of sleep over this,” bemoans Sheriff Joe Lombardo, of...

Gunman Stephen Paddock lost a large amount of wealth in the two years before the Oct. 1 shooting on the Strip, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said in an interview with a local television station. Lombardo told KLAS-TV, Channel 8, that Paddock’s wealth fluctuated because of gambling, real estate transactions and “everything else that he chose to do.” Paddock lost a large amount of money after September 2015, the sheriff said. Lombardo speculated that the financial losses might have contributed to Paddock’s decision to spray a country music festival with bullets, killing 58 people and injuring more than 500 others....

Stephen Paddock’s girlfriend may be hiding something from investigators who are trying to piece together the motive behind the Las Vegas massacre, the city’s sheriff suggested in a wide-ranging interview with a local television station. Marilou Danley, who is still a person of interest in the case, has told authorities that she never knew the attack was coming. Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, in his first TV appearance in nearly three weeks, told KLAS that investigators he’s spoken to believe this assessment is accurate. But he added that something appears to be off about the manner in which Paddock amassed his arsenal...

Triangular Trade: In the Caribbean, ships loaded up with sugar and molasses and took it to Europe for distillation into rum. There, they loaded up on manufactured goods like guns, nails and shackles and headed to Africa, where they picked up slaves. Loaded up in Africa they returned to the labor-hungry new world with the slaves, a synergistic international route: Were Paddock brothers pulling off something similar..? Brother Steve had plenty of money but the sources remained opaque; was he really a gambler who proved successful over the very long-term..? It's technically possible but dubious. Today Bruce Paddock was...

Now the media are just taunting us with their tall tales about Stephen Paddock, the alleged Las Vegas shooter. Reputedly serious news organizations are claiming that he made a living playing video poker. That's like claiming someone made a living smoking crack. The media are either doing PR for the gambling industry or they don't want anyone considering the possibility that Paddock was using gambling to launder money. NBC News reports, with a straight face: "Las Vegas gunman earned millions as a gambler." A Los Angeles Times article is headlined, "In the solitary world of video poker, Stephen Paddock knew...

I am taking a second look at Las Vegas shooter, Stephen Paddock, and a possible ISIL connection. An Australian friend and boyfriend of Marilou Danley’s sister just gave an insightful and articulate interview to ‘A Current Affair.’ Adam Le Fevre knew Paddock well in that he made several trips to the Philippines with him, and he dated the sister of Paddock’s girlfriend Marilou Danley. He is having a difficult time dealing with the fact he was so close to a mass murderer. In one of his visits to Paddock’s home in Nevada, he was taken on a tour which included...

I hesitated to post this as a vanity but I thought it was important for those of us following this case. Steve Wynn, speaking to Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday this morning, said that he had checked with all his staff (right down to masseurs and beauty shop operators) who had or might have had contact with Paddock or Marilou Danley and they reported that no one had ever seen Paddock or Marilou take a drink. Of course, this is unusual because alcohol is not only free but encouraged for gamblers at Paddock's level.

Police found a note in the hotel room of Stephen Paddock, the gunman behind the mass shooting in Las Vegas, that had hand-written calculations about where he needed to aim to kill as many people as possible. In an interview that will be aired Sunday on CBS's "60 Minutes," Officer Dave Newton from the Las Vegas Police Department's K-9 unit said he noticed a note on the shooter's bedside table after officers entered the room. The note was next to one of the windows that Paddock smashed with a hammer to clear an opening to fire into the crowd from...

LAS VEGAS — Stephen Paddock was a contradiction: a gambler who took no chances. A man with houses everywhere who did not really live in any of them. Someone who liked the high life of casinos but drove a nondescript minivan and dressed casually, even sloppily, in flip-flops and sweatsuits. He did not use Facebook or Twitter, but spent the past 25 years staring at screens of video poker machines.Mr. Paddock, a former postal worker and tax auditor, lived an intensely private, unsocial life that exploded into public view on Sunday, when he killed 58 people at a country music...

What was his motive? Why did he do it? Why did Stephen Paddock, 64, rent rooms at the Mandalay Bay hotel, sneak in an arsenal of guns, a dozen of them converted to fully automatic, and rain down death on a country music concert? "We will never know," writes columnist Eugene Robinson. "There can be no rational argument for mass murder ... nothing can really explain the decision to spray thousands of concertgoers with automatic weapons fire, killing at least 59 and injuring hundreds more." But while there can be no justification for mass murder, there is an explanation. And...

Gateway Pundit is sharing a report from SunOnline which appears to contradict the framework of what Marilou Danley has stated to law enforcement. At least as it has been described by media. Previously, media have stated Marilou Danley had no idea Stephen Craig Paddock had dozens of rifles and weapons stored in the house. Additionally, again according to media reports, Danley and Paddock lived together and she left for a vacation to visit friends before he went on the attack in Las Vegas. However, according to neighbors of the house in Reno, these media reports don’t match the actual behavior:...

Las Vegas (CNN)In addition to his frequent forays into casinos and gun shops, Las Vegas strip killer Stephen Paddock took 20 cruises, many of them in Europe and the Middle East, investigators have learned. New video shows concertgoers fleeing scene 02:57 The cruises included stops at ports in Spain, Italy, Greece, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, according to information provided by a law enforcement source who asked not to be identified because the source was not authorized to share information about the investigation. Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, accompanied him on nine of the cruises. [...] In the wake of...

The killer was a white guy, a Christian by birth if not belief. He was not radical, just a crazed man given the means by the gun lobby to terrorize innocent concertgoers in Las Vegas on Sunday night, shooting to death 59 of them. Stephen C. Paddock was, by all accounts so far, an ordinary American. That is what most terrifies the right. And so, some on the far right have convinced themselves that Paddock could not be what he seems, what the authorities say he is. They say facts—alternative facts, perhaps—will inevitably reveal the truth, even as mainstream media...

On the night before Stephen Paddock carried out the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history, he twice called security at the Las Vegas hotel where he was staying to complain about loud music, a law enforcement source told CBS News. The noise was coming from the floor below his suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel casino on the Las Vegas Strip, CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton reports. Albert Garzon of San Diego told The New York Times that security guards asked him to turn down the country music playing in his suite on...

Jihadist? Antifa? Neo-Nazi? Sheriff drops a bombshell then runs away. Las Vegas authorities now acknowledge mass murderer Stephen Paddock may have been “radicalized” before his bloody rampage Sunday at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival but they won’t say what species of radicalism the shooter may have embraced. The deadliest mass shooting in modern American history has been cravenly transformed into anti-American propaganda by the Left, as Democrat commentators race to ghoulishly disparage white men, gun rights and the NRA, Republicans, and President Trump, blaming them for what otherwise looks like a Muslim terrorist atrocity. Islamic State continues to...

As more details emerge about the life of Stephen Paddock, one thing is clear: on paper, he does not appear to fit a typical profile of a mass shooter. The 64-year-old former accountant who carried out the deadly massacre in Las Vegas on Sunday night was a successful real estate investor who stayed in touch with family and took care of his mother. He was a gambler, but not a reckless one. It appears Paddock liked to have a strategy. Over the past three decades, Paddock was involved in nearly a dozen real estate deals. At first, he invested in...
