BOSTON -- Two Massachusetts congressmen and actor George Clooney were among a group of protesters arrested in Washington, D.C., outside the Sudanese embassy as they spoke out against food shortages in the region. Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern and Rep. John Olver were with the group demanding that Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir end the blockade that they say is preventing food and humanitarian aid from reaching the people of Sudan's Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile regions. Bashir's forces are accused of creating the food shortage in the region by bombing fields and preventing villagers from planting crops in July and August....

AMHERST, Mass. --U.S. Rep. John Olver announced Wednesday that he is being treated for a bacterial infection in his brain and expects to be fully recovered in about a month. Olver, 69, said in a statement that the infection was treatable with antibiotics, and he was undergoing treatment at his home in Amherst and at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
