(Massachusetts) Congressman John Olver Believes Bush Will Cancel 2008 Elections
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/ ^ | July 5, 2007 | Bob Feuer

Posted on 07/06/2007 3:18:23 PM PDT by lowbridge

-snip

Cong. Olver asked us to spare him a review of what he already knew and believed about the crimes of the Bush administration, and of the overwhelming majority of his district in favor of impeachment.

-snip

He is deeply concerned whether we will actually have an election in Nov. '08, as he believes this administration will likely strike Iran from the air, declare a national emergency, and cancel the '08 elections. He sees ending the war as his primary goal, and he believes the brilliant Nancy Pelosi has a strategy more potent than impeachment. He thinks impeachment is a futile waste of legislative energy, will be harmful of democratic '08 victories, and further tighten the "gridlock" he has complained of for the past few decades.

Didn’t we hear the same tin-foil hat suggestions nearing the end of Clinton’s second term?

Wasn’t Bush supposed to cancel the ‘04 elections, too?

I’m going to go way out on a limb here and predict that in January of 2009 we will have a peaceful transition of power, just like always.

This crud is much older than Clinton’s day. We heard this shortly story shortly before Nixon’s resignation.

And real voters actually voted for this guy? Is it possible his reelection will be canceled?

The sad thing is that I recall speculation about that by some lunatic fringe “conservatives” back when Clinton was in office.

I hope this crackpot gets lots of press. The more the public sees how insane the Democrats are, the better for Republicans.

I recall that as well. A theory being bandied about: will Clinton stay in office longer than he is allowed?

How did this 3rd level shmuck manage to intercept this closely guarded administration plan? He must have a source very highly placed.

I just wonder if the plan, or any portion, will now be carried out in light of this breech of otherwise high security. Better start looking for a mole in the RNC right away before he learns any more crucial details.

I suppose the administration might implement plan B course of action for the eventual elimination of the democrapper faithful if it appears to have favorable odds.

Just took a look at Olver's website. His hot button is Darfur. He wants the US to go to war in Darfur, and stop fighting in Iraq. Based on his website, he is a traditional, hardline liberal. He also deals in large dollops of money to his District, having stayed in the House long enough to be "the only Member of the Massachusetts delegation who is on the House Appropriations Committee."

That was the same sales pitch that my former Congressman, Charles Taylor, used to try to hang onto power. Didn't work for Taylor, who's now an ex-Congressman. Hope it fails for this yo-yo also.

Yes, and much worse. Clinton signed a secret executive order giving himself all power; secret plans were prepared to turn over the US to the United Nations, complete with UN troops already in place; and of course armadas of scary white vans were prepped and ready to take gun-owners to camps. These are just some of the things I recall. And as we know, it all happened exactly like that! ;)

Unfortunately, with the internet here to enable and amplify such silliness, I'm afraid these "he's gonna cancel elections" conspiracy theories are destined to be a recurring feature of our democracy from now on. Every generation of paranoid/self-important/loner 19-year-old idiots will rediscover this "theory" on the web (while searching for info about the Bohemian Grove, and the Nebraska child-porn ring run by Bush Sr.) in the year prior to a Presidential election, they will think they are the first to encounter it, and they will rush to "warn" others, thus it will spread and become a full-fledged crazy theory.

This is basically going to happen - i.e., we're going to have to hear about these idiotic theories - every four years from now on.

Do we realize how much we could raise the congressional and senatorial IQ if we could just convice Massachusetts to secede? Keep MIT, of course (the tech part anyway), but ditch the rest of those worthless “educational” institutions. After all anyone who consistantly reelects a drunkard woman killer really should just leave.

Democrats will vote for anything with a "D" after their names. (Oh sure, some Republicans do the same with politicians with an "R" after their names, but not nearly as much as the Dems)
