After Ohio Governor Mike DeWine vetoed legislation that would have banned sex changes for minors, a new report revealed that he has received thousands in campaign donations from hospitals that conduct or support those procedures. According to the Daily Caller, from 2018 to 2023 DeWine received $40,300 total from the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association (OCHA), Cincinnati Children’s, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and ProMedica Children’s Hospital. Investigative researcher for Capital Research Parker Thayer, pointed out on X, that nearly half of the medical donations came from the OHCA. "How nice of him to veto a bill that would have cost 'gender affirming'...

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has a bill on his desk that would protect children in the state from dangerous medical interventions in service to sex changes. The bill would stop the practice of doctors medically stopping puberty with puberty blockers, prescribing cross-sex hormones, and encouraging children who allegedly believe they were born in the wrong body from attempting to medically alter their bodies to that they appear more like the opposite sex. It would also protect women's sports from incursion by male athletes. DeWine has not signed it, and has until December 29 to do so. As of an interview...

Ohio is one of four states slated to hold primaries on Tuesday Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Monday night invoked a health emergency to force the closure of polls after a judge declined to delay the state's primary election Tuesday over coronavirus concerns. "During this time when we face an unprecedented public health crisis, to conduct an election tomorrow would force poll workers and voters to place themselves at an unacceptable health risk of contracting coronavirus. As such, Health Director Dr. Amy Acton will order the polls closed as a health emergency,” DeWine announced. “While the polls will be closed...

Former U.S. House Speaker and conservative movement hero Newt Gingrich Tuesday announced his support for Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell. "His new ideas, new strategies and new solutions will set Ohio back on the right path." "I am honored to have the support of a true hero in the conservative movement," said Blackwell. "The overwhelming support of conservative leaders is a testament to my adherence to the core principles...

Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell holds a double-digit lead in Ohio’s GOP gubernatorial primary race in the first Dispatch Poll before the May 2 election. While Attorney General Jim Petro trails by 11 points, nearly a third of Republican voters remain undecided. That means Petro must win two out of every three of those uncommitted voters just to draw even as the candidates fire up their TV ad war over the final five weeks of the campaign. Blackwell’s margin might help explain his decisions not to debate Petro and to limit media access. The front-runner will face a crucial...

Betty Montgomery drops out of Ohio race for governor 6:16 p.m. Sandy Theis Plain Dealer Bureau Chief Columbus -A shortage of money and moderate voters persuaded Auditor Betty Montgomery to drop out of the Republican primary for governor and try to regain her old job of Ohio Attorney General, sources said. Her decision leaves Republicans with two major candidates whom Montgomery once accused of "governing by bumper sticker:" Secretary of State Ken Blackwell and Attorney General Jim Petro. Campaign spokesman Mark Weaver would not confirm or deny her entry into the race for attorney general, saying only that she plans...

State Auditor Betty D. Montgomery peddled a novel idea to The Dispatch editorial board the other day. She said that the next Ohio governor ought to govern. That means coming up with innovative ideas, proposing real solutions, making hard choices, and then having the heft to enact and enforce them. "What you need is a backbone, a veto pen and some leadership - that's what representative democracy is all about," Montgomery said. No profundity in that observation, but still she put her finger on a simple, emerging truth: Ohioans are craving a strong leader more than at any time in...

Confusion at Colorado College Posted: September 4, 20021:00 a.m. Eastern © 2002 WorldNetDaily.com On Sept. 12, the second day of the second year of America's war on terror, Colorado College will host a symposium titled: "September 11: One Year Later." The symposium may not yield much insight into the war, but it tells us all a great deal about the moral confusion that dominates this campus and, I suspect, hundreds of others. As the first speaker on the first day of the conference – the "keynote speaker" according to the college – Colorado College has selected Hanan Ashrawi, a longtime spokeswoman for...
