......But this was not a State of the Union address, it was a fascistic campaign rally of the kind that he had been giving for years, most disturbingly while flanked by Marines at Independence Hall before the 2022 midterms, declaring war on Trump, Republicans and all political opponents. After accusing Republicans of being in thrall to Russia and then of being “insurrectionists”, he falsely claimed that they were preventing women from getting IVF procedures. (In reality, no one’s IVF procedures were threatened and Alabama rushed through a bill protecting IVF in record time .) That was then followed by attacking...

UPDATED, 8:17 AM: More numbers are coming in for Donald Trump’s debut last night before a Joint Session of Congress, and they are looking good for the 45th President over his predecessor’s last State Of the Union. Going low on the hyperbole and heavy on the history, the President’s highly anticipated speech was a fairly polished performance on a very big stage that caught a lot of Americans’ attention – around 22.7 million actually. That’s up over 25% from what Barack Obama’s final SOTU drew among the Big 4 back on January 14, 2016.

It’s little secret that America’s military strength hasn’t just waned under the Obama administration, but plummeted. Weapons systems have been neglected, troop strength has declined and the president has been using the armed forces as a social experiment. So, if someone were to tell you that America’s military were just as strong as ever, you would probably laugh. One group that wouldn’t, though, are the Joint Chiefs of Staff. When Obama mocked them over America’s military strength during last night’s speech, the men who lead our military said it all with their demeanor — stony-faced, unsmiling and not clapping.

JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF ARE NOT CLEARLY DRINKING THE OBAMA KOOL-AID Over the past 7 years, our “not Muslim†president Barack Hussein Obama has systematically decimated all branches of the US military by purging out any and all leaders who did not want to go along with his vision of an LGBT-infused, pro-Muslim military. We have listed below a partial listing of the results of the purge. DEFINITION OF THE WORD CONTEMPT AS USED IN THIS ARTICLE: 1. THE FEELING OR ATTITUDE OF REGARDING SOMEONE OR SOMETHING AS INFERIOR, BASE, OR WORTHLESS; SCORN. 2. THE STATE OF BEING DESPISED OR...

In what may be one of the most bizarre political moments to spring out of Nikki Haleys widely-criticized State of the Union response, Haley declared that donor-class presidential favorite Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) "believes in amnesty," before she flipped 180 degrees to adopt the Rubio campaign talking point that he is "not for amnesty." Haley- who informed reporters that she is in personal contact and even texts Sen. Rubio- said that the Republican presidential hopeful was "supportive" of her speech condemning GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and "appreciated" what she was doing. Haley's retraction of her damning statement about Rubio's support...

During his State of the Union address, the President said that the United States has “the strongest, most durable economy in the world.†It was a clear shot across the bow at those who might not be feeling the love at the moment and critics who don’t see things through rose colored glasses. So how is the recovery going? The unemployment rate as defined by the Department of Labor is certainly back down to a manageable number, but that doesn’t really speak to the factors which affect people in their day to day lives. The Wall Street Journal took at...

President Obama is pledging a "new national effort" to find a cure for cancer in his final State of the Union address on Tuesday. "For the loved ones we've all lost, for the family we can still save, let’s make America the country that cures cancer once and for all," Obama wrote in his joint address to Congress, according to remarks released by the White House. Obama said the efforts are inspired by — and will be led by — Vice President Biden, who has launched a high-profile push to end cancer after losing his oldest son last year. "Last...

But for all the promises of an engaged 2016, there's no getting around the fact that in just one year and eight days, Obama must cede the power to protect what he sees as his greatest achievements, including health care reform, staying out of Middle East quagmires and advancing social justice issues such as gay rights and economic prosperity. There is no doubt that Obama has an awful lot riding on Clinton capturing the White House -- although he has also met with her left-wing rival [fellow left winger], Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, the White House said Monday. A Democratic...

Every president is entitled to the confidence of the nation that he means well. That includes Barack Obama, even when he retreats to his other home in a universe far, far away. He just doesn't understand what's going on here on Planet Earth, where the rest of us live. Meaning well is not enough. He seems to understand now, after it was explained to him at some length, that America is indeed the exceptional nation that Abraham Lincoln said it is, but not for the reasons Mr. Obama thinks. "The United States of America is the most powerful nation on...

President Barack Obama's gaffe Tuesday night during his State of the Union address when referencing Russia has gone largely unnoticed by listeners and pundits alike. "Even as their economy contracts, Russia is pouring resources to prop up Ukraine's and Syria - states they see slipping away from their orbit," said Obama. There's a key discrepancy here: While Russia has been "pouring resources" into the conflict, it certainly has not been to "prop up" Ukrainian government, it has instead gone to those who seek to bring it down. Russia made headlines across the world starting in 2014 when Russian forces were...

The first lady of the United States will be sitting with a Syrian refugee at this week's State of the Union Address. The refugee's name is Refaai Hamo."Growing up in Syria, Refaai Hamo lived what seemed to be the kind of life associated with the American Dream - the son of a farmer and housewife, he worked construction at night to pay his way through college on his way to a PhD, married his college sweetheart and built a family together. This life and happiness changed forever when a Syrian government anti-personnel missile tore through the complex Refaai designed and...

We now know why it appears that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg appeared to fall asleep during President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address last month – she was drinking beforehand.

If they ever put a bullet in your brain I'll complain.

Obama's strategy for the rest of the world is to "turn the page" on it. Libya, where he chose to go to war, is now a failed state. Syria, where he drew a red line, has some 200,000 dead. ISIS, which he dismissed as the junior varsity of jihad, controls half of Iraq and Syria and is executing US citizens live on camera and auctioning Japanese hostages for a fifth of a billion dollars. In West Africa, to whom his wife held up a pouty-faced cardboard hastag #BringBackOurGirls, the girls haven't been brought back and Boko Haram are setting up a local variant of an ISIS state. In Iran, where he claimed he'd halted their nuclear program, their stockpile of enriched uranium has increased since his so-called deal. Al-Qaeda, which he said for years was" on the run", has just pulled off a high-profile mass murder in Paris that struck at the heart of a core western value – freedom of speech.

President Obama may have been hoping to get some momentum back last night with a stridently partisan campaign-style speech. But it appears the media are losing patience with this game, finally. Both NBC News and MSNBC’s commentators were incredulous over Obama’s interpretation of world affairs. And the New York Times’s chief White House correspondent Peter Baker dropped a dreaded phrase into his analysis of Obama’s conception of his foreign policy: “What he did not mention was that….”

President Obama wants to toss the sequestration agreement he made with Republcians in 2011 and is proposing an increase of at least $68 billion in the FY 2016 budget. As imperfect as it is, sequestration has been partly successful in reigning in government spending. It could have worked better if Congress wasn't always carving out exemptions. But there's no doubt that there are tens of billions of dollars that would have been spent without it. With tax receipts at an all time high, rather than applying that money to reducing the deficit, the president - as every Democratic president...

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said today that President Obama knows how to run small businesses better than small business owners. Asked what the White House message to small business owners who are concerned Obama's proposed new mandatory paid sick leave policy could hurt their bottom line, Earnest replied, "I think the president would have a different view which is to say that this is good business and I think there are any number of examples I can site for you where businesses have chosen to put in place these policies and it's served to reduce the turnover...
