AUBURN | A coordinated action against welfare fraud in Cayuga County Wednesday morning led to the arrests of more than 30 people accused of abusing the system. Just after 8 a.m., more than 40 police officers and several officials from multiple departments took part in a countywide sweep to apprehend current and former Cayuga County residents on various welfare and public assistance fraud charges.
