Heard this late this morning on a talk segment about Obama's enormous failure with the economy. New Hampshire has received $ 350 million in economic stimulus money. As a result, according to the radio, NH has created a grand total of 50 (fifty) new jobs, and 34 of THOSE are auditors for the stimulus program! I have no further confirmation, but if this is symptomatic of Obamanomics, by next fall, the Dems will be in the crapper.

I noted with satisfaction that Maine's senate passed a gay marriage bill this week. So too did the New Hampshire senate. Whether the two lower chambers will pass the accompanying bills is unclear (New Hampshire's house passed a slightly different version, so they have to address it again), and whether the governors would sign the bills is also not known (Maine's governor used to be opposed but now says he may be open to the experience). As Josh Marshall points out, it may be that we've reached some sort of societal tipping point on this issue—I can only hope so....

The New Hampshire Senate voted today to allow same-sex couples to marry, setting the state in motion to become the fifth in the country to legalize same-sex marriage... New Hampshire's House had approved the same-sex marriage bill last month on a 186-to-179 vote, but the Senate Judiciary Committee recommended killing the measure. Today, a floor amendment designed as a compromise enabled the bill to win majority support, with 13 of 14 Democrats but none of the 10 Republicans.
