Obama Hopes for "Civilized" Town Hall

Posted by Alex Sundby

President Obama heads to Portsmouth, N.H., Tuesday for a town-hall meeting on the health-care legislation still pending in Congress. Protesters plan to voice their opposition for the Democrats' plan outside the meeting and could possibly bring the kinds of disruptions found at similar meetings for members of Congress inside the gym at Portsmouth High School.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told CBS' "The Early Show" Anchor Harry Smith Tuesday how Mr. Obama would respond should anyone disrupt this afternoon's town hall.

"I think what the president will do is turn to that person and probably ask them to be civilized and give them an answer to their question," Gibbs said.

Gibbs noted he's attended more than 500 town-hall meetings Mr. Obama hosted throughout his political career.

I fully expect even the ‘opposition’ in the audience will be plants, made to look ridiculous so the left can ridicule them.

Stop campaigning you Marxists!

Geesh, at least Bush was admirable to let “paid protesters” picket and speak their mind. call your congressman, Senator, etc.

“I think what the president will do is turn to that person and probably ask them to be civilized and give them an answer to their question,” Gibbs said.

Then they will be escorted outside and shot as an example to the rest of the “mob.”

Well of course it will be “civilized.” All the attendees will be hand-picked, allowed to read only the questions provided to them by SEIU ‘assistants,’ and gently reminded that “we know where you live” if they should have any thoughts of going off-script.

Why would he start answer questions now?

“Civilized” in BO talk means “don’t anyone dare challenge me, or you’ll live to regret it.” Dead fish in the mail, etc.

There’s not enough chlorine in the world to clean up the mess he’s about to dump on this country.

after this (clearly staged) "civilized" town hall, the media and the white house will hold it up as an example of how "normal" American citizens want socialized healthcare but some have "legitimate" concerns which can be discussed in a "civilized" manner and their fears can be alleviated with a re-assuring wink and a nod from Dear Leader.

The overall "civility" of the event will be used as further evidence that the people causing "disruptions" at other such meetings are really just bought and paid for by the evil insurance companies and those even more sinister Republicans, and that they are stifling real "debate" on an issue that everyone agrees with Obama on right?

I fear that an ‘incident’ will be ginned-up and conservatives will be blamed.

Obama already said he wants people who disagree with him to just “stop talking”. People are supposed to sit quietly and listen to Professor Obama give his interminable non-answers to pre-screened questions.

Yep. This will be scripted to look like O has all the answers and is the great moderating peacemaker. There will be (scripted) jabs at the right, but they will be subtle.

"hopes" for? What BS. Of course every one in their will be a carefully screened and selected certified kool-aid drinkler spouting the partyline as they kiss Obamas feet. and of course his loyal mediasluts will portray this frace as real Americans withj genuine concerns...sure to make you barf.

and i wouldn't be suprised at all if part of the script involved some alleged wacko right wing thugs (on the DNC payroll of course) causing problems and disrupting the meeting, convienently right in froint of the MSMsluts cameras.

Talk about a "packed" house for Jokare.

There won't be anyone allowed in who hasn't been "asked" to attend.

Gee, I hope those seniors who are opposed to this “health reform bill” will act “civilized”.

The Administration sends out its SEIU dogs, praises them for beating some guy up, declares its opponents to be the mob, and then gives lectures on acting “civilized”. What gall.

The thuggery must stop. I’m not impressed with words that come out of the White House.
