Another New England State Lost

The New Hampshire Senate voted today to allow same-sex couples to marry, setting the state in motion to become the fifth in the country to legalize same-sex marriage...

New Hampshire's House had approved the same-sex marriage bill last month on a 186-to-179 vote, but the Senate Judiciary Committee recommended killing the measure. Today, a floor amendment designed as a compromise enabled the bill to win majority support, with 13 of 14 Democrats but none of the 10 Republicans.

I lived in Portsmouth and Rochester NH in the 1980’s. You couldn’t find a more conservative state then. We lost NH long before this vote.

I realize some progressives may not support my idea...but the best step left here...is to advocate 3-person and 4-person marriages....along with legalizing marriages to your cousin or sister. Since we are going to open up the barn door....might as well open it the entire way now. Start showing up in New Hampshire with a petition to legalize sister-brother marriages and tie it on the successful gay marriage agenda...and see how the locals feel about this.

One little reported side effect, of state endorsed homosexual unions in Mass., is that the Catholic church was driven out of the adoption business in that state. If you oppose same sex couples adopting kids you can no longer provide adoption services.

Time for the northeastern states to secede, taking their leftwing electoral votes with them.

No, that would be “icky” and perverse, while a man marrying a man and a woman marrying a woman are perfectly normal. (sarcasm)

At least it was done by the legislatures and not the courts.
I know a good number of gays and would rather see kids adopted by them than by the single welfare moms or by good number of married heterosexuals I am acquainted with.
In the Catholic church marriage is a religious sacrament and is defined as between a man and a woman, no exceptions.

I’ll don the flame suit.

From where I live in Massachusetts, gay marriage hasn’t affected the quality of life in this state not one bit.

That's because you still live there. If you have kids and go to a state where gays can not adopt you'll realize how much it was affecting you.

If your children are grown and out of the house I can see where you may not be affected. But how would you like a call from a 'Dad' who complains that your kid saying that talking about penis all day is disgusting is hurtful to their child.

You're a frog in warm water on a hot stove my friend.

I think it would if you were to say anything in public about your views as a Christian, if you are a Christian. You would instinctively keep your views to yourself.

If you felt that kids up for adoption, having been through enough trauma already, needed to be adopted by a married heterosexual couple, you would find yourself instinctively keeping your opinions to yourself.

It affects you in that you would remain silent about your views on homosexual sex education in the early grades. If you disagreed even slightly you would unthinkingly keep silent for fear of public disapproval.

If you are even slightly conservative you have learned never to speak up, never address the truth. Not even about obvious thing such as black communities with a 70% illegitimacy rate, destroyed culture, slovenly public education.

It has probably affected you more than you admit, in that you haveleanred to stay silent about even the slightest deviation from political correctness.

But then again, maybe you are neither conservative nor Christian and are comfortable with the restricted nature of public discourse.

Truth Behind The Gay Agenda

Of the gay activists talking points concerning gay “marriage”,(and their whole agenda, for that matter) ,there are three arguments in particular that they repeat ad nauseum that I now would like to poke a few holes through.
They are:
1)Their lifestyle won’t be taught in schools.
2)It other won’t affect anyone else.
3)It won’t affect churches or private organizations.

Ah yes, the ol' "well maybe you're not a true believer" argument. You should've just been honest and trotted this one out from the onset, rather than going through all the preliminaries.

Live and let live. They don't hurt me, I don't hurt them. Honestly, it hasn't made a dime's worth of difference in the lives of the ordinary citizenry.

You haven't noticed how the state had become a blasted waste land through which hordes of mutants -- GAY mutants, mind you -- shamble aimlessly?

Ah yes, the ol' "well maybe you're not a true believer" argument.

When the Republican Party is down to two members, how will they decide which one gets to excommunicate the other?
