Authorities say charges have been filed in connection to a graffiti incident on the garage door of an Arab family in Lucas County. Sylvania Township police say Osama Nazzal, 28, of Toledo, was charged with criminal damaging in connection to the incident. On Jan. 10, the Sylvania Twp. home of Souheir Eltatawi had been spray-painted with a swastika and derogatory phrase that read, "Expletive Arabs." Nazzal is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on March 1, at 8:30 a.m.

Mosad fails to kill Hamas chief in Syria: sources GAZA, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The external Israeli security intelligence service, better know as Mosad, has failed to assassinate Damascus-based Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal, sources in the movement revealed Wednesday. FALLUJAH, Iraq, - U.S. authorities on Thursday released a prominent Sunni Muslim cleric arrested last year in the tense city of Fallujah. Sheik Jamal Shaker Nazzal, the imam of Fallujah's Grand Mosque, said his release was part of a deal between the city's residents and U.S. occupation authorities seeking to defuse the ongoing crisis around the besieged city. "We suffered a lot in prison but with God's help and that of the people of Fallujah I gained my freedom," he said. "Thanks be to God for the victory of Fallujah."
