The violence from protesters involved in the pro-migration, foreign-flag-waving riots in Los Angeles is “escalating,” Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell revealed during a press conference. During the press conference, McDonnell revealed that the violence is “getting increasingly worse and more violent” since the riots first started over the weekend. McDonnell also added that protesters were shooting “commercial grade fireworks” at LAPD officers. McDonnell also revealed that he respects U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, adding that they are a “fellow law enforcement agency.” “To the people who are not happy with the fact that ICE is in...

The Democrat senator criticizes Trump's deployment of National Guard. The anti-ICE demonstrations in and around Los Angeles have been “peaceful,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) claimed on Sunday, despite clear evidence of violent clashes with federal authorities.Booker seemed to take a page out of CNN’s “mostly peaceful” playbook from 2020 after President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles over the weekend. Trump criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass — both Democrats — for not being able to contain the chaos as videos and media reports documented how demonstrators hurled rocks, concrete, and fireworks at...

"Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes and unrest. We have an incompetent Governor (Newscum) and Mayor (Bass) who were, as usual (just look at how they handled the fires, and now their VERY SLOW PERMITTING disaster. Federal permitting is complete!), unable to to handle the task," he wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. President Trump has said masks are banned at anti-ICE protests Los Angeles, where police have clashed with demonstrators. Trump has dispatched about 2,000 members of the National Guard to respond. "Great job by the National Guard in Los...

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, in an interview Sunday morning, spoke out forcefully against violence, but also called the federal government’s response “unneccessary.” She called the administration’s actions “posturing” and “completely disruptive to a city that has already gone through so much.” She also condemned violence, saying people who engaged in it or vandalism should be “arrested and held accountable to the full extent of the law.” “The protest that happened last night in L.A. was relatively minor,” she added, and “to say that the city is out of control, I don’t know what city they are talking about.” Demonstrations...

Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that President Donald Trump was “hell bent on inflaming the situation” in Los Angeles by sending the National Guard to address protests. Klobuchar said, “Every governor is going to make their own decisions based on the situation. In this case, Governor Newsom has made clear that he wants local law enforcement protecting the citizens, and he has asked the president not to inflame the situation. In Governor Walz’s case, as you pointed out in the earlier segment, he did bring in the National Guard. I would also point out...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Around 300 National Guard troops arrived in Los Angeles early Sunday on orders from President Donald Trump, staging outside a federal complex that remained largely quiet and without major protests following two days of clashes with immigration authorities. The deployment appeared to be the first time in decades that a state’s national guard was activated without a request from its governor, a significant escalation against those who have sought to hinder the administration’s mass deportation efforts. On Sunday morning, some of the troops were stationed outside the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles, dressed in tactical...

During an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) ripped the protesters for not only tearing Los Angeles apart but for carrying Mexico’s national flag while doing so. “They were literally out there protesting, carrying a foreign flag,” Mullin said. “That is absolutely insane. I mean, they’re not just peaceful protesters. These are illegals. These are exactly why the president is trying to secure our border.” Unsurprisingly, Bash’s first thought was to defend the insurrectionists and ignore the crimes committed

Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom is attacking Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth over his statement that U.S. Marines are on “high alert” if needed to help National Guard troops with the out of control illegal immigration riots in Los Angeles, calling it “deranged behavior.” Governor Newsom’s press office also attacked Hegseth, responding to a post by Hegseth criticizing Newsom over the riots with a Reuters photo from Saturday that showed protesters in an intersection waving a Mexican flag in front of a burning automobile. Hegseth commented, “Another “mostly peaceful protest” brought to you by @GavinNewsom DEPORT.” Newsom’s press office replied,...

Representative Nanette Barragán (D-CA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that President Donald Trump was “targeting peaceful protests” by sending the National Guard to Los Angeles. Host Dana Bash said, “Let’s start with the fact that the president ordered National Guard troops to respond in LA County within the next 24 hours. What have you heard about the situation on the ground? What updates are you getting?” Barragán said, “Well, I’ve spoken to the sheriffs on the ground who have said they have things under control. There is no need for the National Guard. They have the manpower...

Authorities in Tennessee are preparing for the release of police officer body cam footage of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who died three days after a traffic stop on Jan. 7. Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis gave an address Wednesday evening and called Nichols’ death "heinous, reckless and inhumane," cautioning people not to react violently after seeing the footage. "This is not just a professional failing. This is a failing of basic humanity towards another individual," Davis said, saying the five officers and others who were involved in his death "failed our community, and they failed the Nichols family....

Black Lives Matter protesters got into an altercation with police in Pittsburgh that ended with a black officer striking one of the protesters, according to images captured at the scene. A group of roughly 20 activists gathered to protest the death of Jim Rogers, who died in the hospital after being tasered by eight police officers in October. Several officers from the Wilkinsburg Police Department and others soon arrived on the scene and declared the event an unlawful assembly, ordering the group to stop blocking the street.
