The 2008 presidential election will pit Republican Sen. George Allen of Virginia against Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, according to a straw poll conducted among conservatives over the weekend. The straw poll was conducted at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C. Sixty-four percent of those surveyed predicted that Clinton will win her party's nomination in 2008. Twenty-two percent thought Allen will win the GOP nomination.
